Twitter is now censoring links
For awhile now Twitter has been hinting they were going to start censoring outgoing links on their popular social networking platform and the first step they took in that was the use of converting (or shortening as they said) all links to a t.co variation then redirecting it to the intended location. They even says, as plain as day, “Twitter uses the t.co domain as part of a service to protect users from harmful activity, to provide value for the developer ecosystem, and as a quality signal for surfacing relevant, interesting Tweets.”
Only now they really are doing it, it’s not longer just a claim of something that might or might not happen sometime in the future and it’s not just to spam sites either.
While they say it’s for the sole purpose of protecting their users from harmful sites. We have to wonder just how true that is.
“Having a link shortener protects users from malicious sites that engage in spreading malware, phishing attacks, and other harmful activity. A link converted by Twitter’s link service is checked against a list of potentially dangerous sites. Users are warned with the error message below when clicking on potentially harmful URLs. “
They can cut off direct linking to any site they want – including competitor sites or sites they don’t feel plays ball with their policies, say for instance they don’t like bit.ly and therefore the thousands of people who use that URL shortening service, suddenly find their links don’t work on twitter anymore so they cease using the bit.ly service and now they go out of business.
Of course that also means they can block access to adult sites if they so desire and considering some of the owners of Twitter, that isn’t out of the question.
So for now you just need to keep an eye on anything you tweet out and see if it gets blocked. If it does you’ll have to file a report at t.co and ask for reconsideration.
The most fucked up Bluebird Films story of the month
Sometimes you just have to ask yourself, what the hell kinda crack are some people smoking?
Mike South recently posted [source] about another awards show. This one is rather interesting. See it’s put on by a company owned by Bluebird Films and they award themselves, two of the 13 categories. There is the award for the best Bluebird Film of the year. No seriously, Bluebird Films is putting on an award show where they award themselves the best Bluebird Films of the year.
I know right now you are probably laughing, thinking this is some kind of joke. I mean who would do something so outrageously stupid, right?
And beyond that, surely a company who owes all those people thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars surely isn’t pissing away money on producing an awards show, and giving themselves awards in the process, right?
I mean how the hell do they find the time for such things? Between hijacking affiliate traffic (through blatant site leaks), not paying people, not just affiliates either, we mean former employees, legal people, graphics designers, etc.
Then there are the idle threats to people Nicholas Steele doesn’t like (or pay) sending them text messages calling them a fat whore, or saying “Better be careful I can’t control what Paul Chaplin will do to you”, or having his friends send warning messages saying “be careful Nick owns a lot of guns”, or the best threat of all is that the person better be careful because the third owner in the company, the silent partner is secretly involved in some sort of “FAMILY” related business, hint hint. Oh yes, the veiled mafia threat is without a doubt my favorite, considering the gun one holds no real water to me considering I live in Texas and let’s be real … who don’t I know that doesn’t own a gun? I think my neighbors 10 year old got one for his birthday last month. Well the mafia thing is a good one but I forgot about the, best be careful we are monitoring your tweets. LOL Seriously almost pee’d my panties laughing at that one.
Yes somehow between all of this they still find time to put on an awards show? I guess when you don’t pay the people you owe money to, you can afford such extravagances.
Perhaps if Nicholas Steele would spend less time worrying about what I’m doing and more time doing his own job, then maybe Bluebird Films would make enough money to actually pay their bills. Just a thought.

Got a letter today from a concerned citizen. I thought I would share it with you because some of this needs to be said.
For a long time now people like Mike South and others have been bitching loudly about the porn industry testing standards. Case in point … HPV. We can test for it, but we don’t. “It’s not a big deal” says one industry big shot.
Well I wonder what Michael Douglas has to say about that … he now suffers from throat cancer, which has now been directly related to HPV he contracted through oral sex.

If we really want to protect the talent then why the fuck aren’t we actually doing it with the most basic of services like mandatory HPV testing?

Let’s instead talk about real solutions.
Spend time and money on things that fucking count.
Testing your fucking talent for shit that can actually kill them.
Cancer is serious shit.
But in the end you really only care about one thing and that is the bottom fucking line and the bottom fucking line is, it is far to cost prohibitive to test for things like HPV.
So please shut the fuck up with your full body shit ads already and stop pretending like you fucking care about anything but your big fat 6 figure a year paycheck to stupid cunt.
