Marketing on MySpace and other social networking sites has become commonplace. The smart porn starlet knows that a good MySpace profile page can help her connect with her fans and improve attendance at any upcoming venue and the sales of her latest movie.

But some stars are busy. Some stars create a myspace page and then pay someone to keep up with it for them.

Typically this job would mean approving new friend requests, deleting spam comments and posting bulletins under the star’s name when she has something specific going on in her life like a new movie coming out.

Sounds easy enough, right?

Well it seems some stars made a bad decision in their hiring practices and aren’t really staying on top of these people because these companies are using the porn star’s myspace account to be all out spammers and in return leaving a bad taste in the mouth of their dedicated fans — not just because these people are using the porn star’s account to spam but also because they are making these posts pretending to be the star in question.

These three are the most spamingest myspace whores there are. But truth is, these three porn stars probably don’t log on to their myspace account more than once a year themselves. What they are actually guilty of is making a bad decision in the company they hire to babysit their myspace pages.

Now I know I’ve discussed this before but since then it’s gotten only worse so I’ve decided taht another post was clearly in order. I am going to show you how bad this is. Now keep in mind I’m not showing any of the actual news being posted. These are just the spams.

What it comes down to is that twice a day, at the very least every single day someone is logging onto these star’s myspace pages and posting these spam ass messages to their fans. Apparently this comany thinks the fans are so stupid they don’t know it’s just spam nor do they have enough respect for them not do to this. I am sure they want to keep up with what’s going on with the star but with so many junk messages being posted, when REAL news comes out, it’s mostly just ignored.

It seems the new Fame Registry list is out for this month’s top porn stars. I didn’t see any major shockers there but a few little quirks do have me curious. Let’s start towards the top of the list.  Obvious winners are Tera Patrick, Jenna Haze and Briana Banks.  No big shockers there.

Somehow Taylor Rain who hasn’t really been active in quite some time inched out Jesse Jane for the #4 spot, despite the fact that Jesse Jane has a new movie out, and not just any more either. Pirates II is a mega hit so I’m quite surprised to see her drop a spot while Taylor Rain who has done nothing lately goes up.

Mary Carey as #6? Really? How is that even possible that anyone in their right mind would search for her name on the Internet? It has to be that dumb ass VH1 rehab show.  The only other major change was with Vivid Girl Sunny Leone who had a sharp rise from last month to now going from #15 to #9 and Amy Reid who went from #23 to #14 this month.  A very impressive jump for both girls.

Fame Registry tracks to date 132 porn stars and ranks them based on their populairty, which is based on things like how many awards they have won from AVN, XRCO and F.A.M.E., how many times per day someone uses a search engine to search for the porn stars name, how much traffic their official  website gets, and things of that nature.   The scores are updated once or twice each month and a new list of “top stars” is formed each month.  It’s a pretty nifty reference if nothing else to see who’s hot and who’s not.

Some things are more obvious than others when it comes to lying. I mean by now we all heard that smiling Bob isn’t going to make your dick any harder or any bigger and he faces 20 years in the big house for lying about it. I mean he had a nice run with his male enhancement product but in the end it didn’t enhance shit and well, I think most of us knew it. But sometimes those lies we all read about or see on TV aren’t so obvious or so harmless.

I was watching TV a few months ago when I came across an ad for a product about cutting your dog’s nails. The commercial made the product sound like the answer to my every pet related need and as such I bought the item in question only to find when it finally arrived some 6 weeks later that it was total and complete shit.  It wasn’t that they lied, they just led me to believe something that wasn’t exactly true.  It was deceptive, perhaps - but it wasn’t a flat out lie.

Sort of like saying a man is a disabled vet.   When one says a man is a “disabled veteran” it leads one to believe that he was injured at war.  You know like defending our country or some shit like that.  I mean there is honor in that and that is why that phrase holds special meaning.  However when one finds out that this person was at one time a Marine or may or may not have ever so much as seen any real shit, or ever even left the country for that matter, let alone gotten a single injury while in the service, but in fact was TEMPORARILY disabled by a slip and fall type injury while at work and hasn’t exactly been in the military in years would be yet another example of deceptive practices.




Sure the guy technically is a vet, I mean at one time he was in the Marines but for all we know he could have been dishonorably discharged. And sure the guy was temporarily disabled by obtaining an injury while on the job but he’s not a DISABLED VETERAN in the sense that we have come to attach special and honorable meaning to that phrase.  So implying otherwise would again be unethical.  In fact, some might even say fraudulent.  It’s ironic that while accusing someone of fraud, one would commit fraud themselves.

I’m not pointing any fingers here or even talking about anyone specific, just giving examples of lies, deceptions and well … I’m really getting off topic here. I think you get the point with this one. So let us move on.

So now let’s say you are a porn star. You are in fact a pretty popular porn star. You pay some guy or some company to create you a new website. The first thing I noticed was how much her new website looked like another website, that of porn star Nikki Benz. You can visit the two sites and compare the two for yourselves. Both use identical color schemes, both use the same blue and white swirls. It’s amazing how similar the two sites are.  I don’t know about you but I would be pissed off if I paid some guy to create me a website and launch it only to find it looks almost exactly like another porn star’s website.  Since Nikki Benz has had her website around awhile now we know that hers was the original.

Now here is where the shit just gets down right funny, well maybe not as funny as fraudulent but still you get the point.  Shyla Stylez apparently signed a deal with a company called Adult Star Products to manager her website and get traffic through their affiliate program.  It’s not uncommon for a porn star to do something like this.  In theory it makes it easier to handle your website because they are already setup to manager multiple websites like your own so in theory that just makes things easier.   So this is what caught my eye.

WHAT?  Shyla Stylez is the #1 searched porn star online?  Oh really?  Where did they get this tid bit of information?  I mean who the fuck would have the balls to actually say that out loud let alone post it as official or true?  Without even looking I can tell you a few names that are searched for more than Shyla Stylez and that includes Jenna Jameson, Tera Patrick, Jenna Haze.  So then I actually put in a little effort and found that quite a few others also come up in search engines more than Shyla Stylez, such as Eva Angelina, Jesse Jane, Gianna Michaels and Amy Reid.

Even more insane is that the person who created her site put this little “fact” across every single page of her website. Let’s just forget the fact that it’s not even remotely true and put it up there anyway because it sounds good?  Is this the logic they were going with because it’s the best I can fucking figure out!

As I was laughing about this bullshit with a friend of mine, who has this horrible tendency to try and see the good in people, despite the obvious, pointed out that maybe these searches the Shyla Stylez people referred to was at a site like FreeOnes.  And you know come to think of it, I did seem to recall Shyla Stylez being pretty popular at FreeOnes so ya maybe that’s it.  But turns out that couldn’t be the case since well 5 isn’t 1 and that’s her spot when I checked.  So who the fuck knows what they were thinking.  Guess it’s just yet another example of stretching the truth.  It seems there is a lot of that going on lately.

You know you hear all this shit lately about Booble this, Booble that, Tera Patrick going to donate any winnings from Booble to Charity.  Blah blah blah.  A mother doesn’t go by that XBIZ or AVN isn’t posting about Booble and some months you have to hear about it more than once.


So I decided to check out what Booble is. First thing I noticed is that it is a search engine.  Oh I get it now, it’s meant to be like Google with boobies.  HA. Ha.


Okay, I like the idea so far.  I mean the Google lawyers will probably pounce all over their asses for trademark violations if they ever get to big but whatever, that’s for lawyers to figure out.


What I noticed more than anything about their website is how many ads there are.  Damn, that’s a lot of ads.  I noticed on the front page alone, 8 actual ads and 12 text link type ads.  Then I realized oh wait, their movie of the week which goes up and down half the front page is also an ad.  Holy shit these guys are tacky about ad placement but what the fuck ever.


So I take a look at their Booble girl of the month.  I search for Tera Patrick and you know what I get? Two paid listings, one of her official site and the other is for pornstar.com.  Hey at least they are actually about Tera Patrick so that’s at least something.


Next I searched for Hanna Hilton.  She was their Booble girl for last month.  I get 12 listings.  HOLY SHIT 12!! Nice!  Oh wait … one of the 12 listings actually have anything to do with Hanna Hilton.  But hey, I did get four more ads to look at, on top of the 12 paid listings - which had nothing to do with Hanna Hilton.


So let me get this straight.  They are and I quote …

Yet they have no listings for Hanna Hilton, the newest Vivid girl, who might I add THEY selected as their gilr of the month.  You are telling me they couldn’t have bothered to at least go add in some Hanna Hilton relevant results with the dumb fuckers picked her as their girl of the month?  Look at the image below and tell me what the fuck they have to do with Hanna Hilton?


Booble is such a great idea and gets a lot of press coverage so it’s to bad these stupid fuckers can’t seem to get it right.  PEOPLE USE A SEARCH ENGINE FOR RELEVANT RESULTS DUMB ASSES, not to view your stupid fucking ads.

Now here is where the story gets interesting.  Tera Patrick decided she would give away her $5,000 prize money if she was elected as the Booble Girl of the Year.  She named some charity and all the regular news sources ran with it.  Sources said that until this publicity stunt Tera Patrick with in 2nd or 3rd place.  Booble placed Tera Patrick on the front page in conjunction with all the industry news sources disucssing it and Tera Patrick moved up to the #1 spot.

Since the porn press could not hold back this ‘crucial news’ for me, I am issuing the following open letter to the porn industry on the internet, the way I do these days…… bear with it, it is longwinded….. but it speaks my mind. More in the next blog.

“I, Vicky Vette release the following statement regarding Tera Patrick’s charity pledge. I challenge ‘journalists’ to print it unedited since I will be putting it up in all the places I frequent in the new real world of adult - the internet. It is going to get read anyway. I know how to get the word out even if you don’t print it.

I preface this statement by saying that charity is a very important part of life. Doing charity is good for the heart and good for the soul. If the porn industry ever wanted to get behind my charity work, they could have taken the time to ask me about it before splashing the pages of the industry magazines with Tera’s charity pledge without even giving me a chance to respond. I’ve been doing it for years. I am booked for the AIDS Walk again in Atlanta October 19, 2008 and I could use the press help for the charity’s sake, not to win Booble. Charity work should be done for the right reasons – not just for press.

I believe in actions, not press releases seeking votes when you are in 2nd place with 3 days to go in a competition. Funny how she never mentioned her intentions while she was in the lead? So we have a Tera Patrick/Booble press release with a ‘every vote is a vote for charity’ message. I ask the porn press who all have my telephone number (which has not changed in 5 years) the following questions:

1. If the charity doesn’t have the funds to update their website, and needs help, maybe we should all get involved?

2. What happened to my press release I sent you over a week ago about being in Booble?

3. What happened to my press release about Nina Hartley joining forces with me with her website NinaHartley.com that you got yesterday?

4. Why was I not given the courtesy of an emailed copy of the ‘charity for votes press release’ while it was being prepared?

5. Why did AVN and XBiz, publications I have done stories with before, done interviews for, and always tried to help out, run with a story while I was out for an afternoon doing errands? Quote: “Vicky Vette was not available for comment?” Au Contraire! I have nothing but comments! The press release was posted on xbiz and the once-weekly email sent to the subscribers only hours after they sent me the perfunctory email. I wonder when it was actually thought of and drafted? Not available for comments! What a joke - call me – I’ll give you comments! Gee now there won’t be another newsletter email until after the contest is over. Coincidence?

6. Why not run with a story for the benefit of Nina Hartley a true veteran and staunch supporter of the industry and freedom of speech –who is a legend in her own time?

WHY is the question - my answer you will not like. Perhaps getting press for the sake of press - press because second is not good enough.

This competition is not about Tera Patrick, who is incredibly beautiful by the way. Her boobs are awesome and deserve votes. Some in the porn industry just said to me on Monday that it was incredible I was making a resurgence and that he thought I retired from the world of porn. Incredible. Nothing could be further from the truth and I have news for the world of porn. I flourished ‘under the radar’ and did things some stars don’t seem to like to do - get my hands ‘dirty’ interacting with the fans. For two years I spent time on the internet and learning it. I may not have the global fan base of Tera Patrick by virtue of the reach of DVD sales in general, but I developed ‘the people’s vote’. I stopped doing ‘box cover movies’ to be a trendsetter in the business. It does not take rocket science to see that DVD sales and store sales of DVD’s are way down. People are going in droves to buy their adult content online and they are interacting in ways that the industry never anticipated and frankly do not like. The first thing today’s “stars” do is hire a publicist/assistant to deal with all that ‘horrible’ mail in their inbox.

Want to know what a Vicky Vette day looks like? Opening email, going through Myspace, Facebook, Yahoo, and social networks, talking to the people who write, and above all else being interactive with as many people as possible - yes grunting it out. I am not ‘above’ doing camshows weekly, week in week out. The porn industry is fooling itself if it thinks it can keep packaging up pornstars and throwing them on boxcovers. Fans expect more and they should get more. We are not ’stars’ - we are lucky to have people buying porn with all the free porn being given away.

It is the fans I speak to and who have been speaking to on a daily basis, the person in Switzerland who instant messages me out of the blue, or the fan in Denmark who send me a note on Myspace saying ‘I don’t expect a response but….’ Don’t believe that the internet is working for me? Take a look at the hits on my website….. my site is now going to pass Tera Patrick’s site for popularity - not bragging, just a fact. Big news coming out of the gaming world today as it seems Miss Tera Patrick has signed on to be a “special producer” for the XBOX 360 game Saints Row 2.  Tera Patrick’s role in the game clearly isn’t significant, as the game is nearing release and so how much can she really contribute in 30 days? But it is a great publicity stunt.  All the hype they will get for the game just by attaching her name to the game can only help sales.  They say that Tera Patrick’s role as “special producer”, will bring her one-of-a-kind special touch to the project. And by that they no doubt mean, lending them the use of her name and half naked body for cover art.

For those that don’t know, Saints Row 2 is a sandbox-style action-adventure video game developed by Volition Inc and published by THQ. It is the second title in the Saints Row series. Saints Row 2 is to be released in America on October 14, 2008, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 systems. A smaller variant of the game will also be published for mobile phones, and also to the PlayStation Portable system.

Saints Row 2 is set in a redesigned rendition of Stilwater, a fictional city based heavily on modern day Chicago. The game picks up from where Saints Row left off, with the player waking up from a trauma-induced coma in a prison hospital, five years after the events of Saints Row, only to escape the prison island and rejoin the 3rd Street Saints, the gang the series is set around. The protagonist soon learns that the Saints have fallen apart, and that three new gangs have risen to power in a massively expanded Stilwater, and must eliminate them to reclaim the city he once owned. The story follows ’much darker and more sinister story that leads your character down a path of betrayal, revenge and redemption against the city that has left him for dead’.

What I found even more surprising in the press release was not that Tera Patrick was whoring out her name on yet another thing but that she has her own clothing line.  When the fuck did Tera Patrick get her own clothing line? I knew Jenna Jameson had one with the House of Jameson, something she had started after modeling a few years back during fashion week, but now Tera Patrick too?  Tera Patrick’s new clothing like will be called Mistress Couture. I don’t know much else about it but if any news comes out regarding it, I will let you know.

In 1989 a little known movie came out that featured Barbara Dare, Tori Welles, April West, Summer Rose, Fallon,  Christie Leigh and Tori Welles.  This was one of Tori Welles’s first ever adult movies.   The movie was directed by Paul Thomas but it was back in a time when the name Paul Thomas wasn’t so well known and didn’t come attached to so many industry awards.  It was 1989 after all.

Where The Boys Aren’t

Fast forward 19 years.  It’s now 2008 and we now have the release of Where The Boys Aren’t 19.  The movie series is still winning awards, it’s still a best selling title and it still features big named stars.   Paul Thomas directed most of the Where The Boys Aren’t titles, but not all.  Recently Chi Chi La Rue has been heading up the Where The Boys Aren’t project but he isn’t slacking when it comes to talent.  In fact, the last Where The Boys Aren’t title (Where The Boys Aren’t 18), in which Chi Chi La Rue directed, was a huge hit.  Industry award nominations aside, the movie stayed at the top of the sales charts for more than a year.   Considering how many great movies came out last year, that is really saying a lot.

But a new year is upon us and that means it is now time for a new Where The Boys Aren’t …. 19 this time and this one is in the theme of the middle east.  Set with an Arabian Nights setting, how can it now be an erotic adventure you won’t soon forget?

When becoming a porn star it’s really to bad they don’t give a class on how to pick your name.  In reality we know that most girls go into this business for money but what nobody stops to think about or just doesn’t understand is how to BE a porn star.  That is the business end of things.  Let us start with something simple like picking a name.

All to often young starlets pick a name like Peaches or Princess or some weird spelling variation thereof.    Or an even bigger mistake they don’t investigate the name they do pick.  Such is the case with the story of Nikki Jaymes.

I was reading a really fucking funny story today on AdultFYI in which some photographers were complaining about how the pussy of this girl named Nikki Jaymes really smelled bad.  Then there was this other girl who also happened to be a porn star named Nikki Jaymes (and blonde to boot) who was catching shit over it.  People apaprently kept asking how her pussy was and if it really stunk.

So girls let me give you a little bit of advice before becoming a porn star, at least about your name.

Pick a name that is easy to spell.  If you pick a complicated name then it will make marketing your image much harder.  If your name is Candy spell it like Candy not Candee or some other confusing variation.

Pick a first AND a last.  You want to give yourself every chance you have to set yourself a part from the crowd.  Being a successful porn star is about building a brand and to build a brand you need a way to indtify that brand.  There are a lot of Tera Patricks in this world but there is only one Tera Patrick.   There are a lot of girls who go by the name of Jenna in this world but there is only one Jenna Jameson and only one Jenna Haze.

When you pick a name learn to fucking use Google.  Find out if there are any other adult performers or nude models using that name.  Had the young Nikki Jaymes from the AdultFYI story bothered to do that she would have found the other girl and it would have saved her a load of grief a month into her career.

My last bit of advice is to not infringe on any other person’s fame, brand or legal copyright.   This means don’t pick names like Barbie (first or last), Lexus, Mercedes, Toyota or something like Jenna Jamerson or Tera Patricka.  They may seem like popular choices but the second you gain any sort of real fame the people who own the rights to those names will sue your ass off.

A good case in point is Lexus Locklear who got sued by the auto company Lexus and now has to go by Lexi and the countless Barbie lawsuits.

Actually I do have one more bit of advice for you and that is OWN THE RIGHTS TO YOU OWN NAME.  Never -ever- under any circumstances agree to any deal where you the performer doesn’t own the rights to your own name.  Do not let them put it into your contract and do not let them trademark your name.

Pick a name and buy the .com for it BEFORE performing and if there is any talk of trademarking your name, YOU be the trademark holder for your name.
