DIGITAL PLAYGROUND CONTRACT STAR JESSE JANE EARNS 6 PRESTIGIOUS XBIZ NOMINATIONS
Jesse Jane’s 2014 XBIZ Awards Recognitions Include Female Performer of the Year, Crossover Star of the Year and 2 Best Actress Nominations
Jesse Jane, Digital Playground’s exclusive contract star, is nominated for 6 prestigious awards by adult industry trade publication, XBIZ Media. The 2014 XBIZ Awards will be held in Los Angeles, California on January 24, 2014 at the Century Plaza Hotel. The award nominations include top honor Female Performer of the Year, as well as Crossover Star of the Year, which recognizes an adult performer’s impact in mainstream entertainment.
Jesse Jane’s complete list of nominations is as follows:
- Female Performer of the Year
- Crossover Star of the Year
- Best Actress – Feature Movie, Bridesmaids (Digital Playground)
- Best Actress – Couples – Themed Release, Love Jesse (Digital Playground)
- Best Scene – Feature Movie, Code of Honor (Digital Playground)
- Best Scene – Feature Movie, Bridesmaids (Digital Playground)
“I am beyond thrilled to be nominated for the 2014 XBIZ Awards, especially Female Performer of the Year” Jesse Jane says. “I’m so happy and grateful to all my supporters, my fans, and everyone at XBIZ! Thank you for recognizing all my hard work, and dedication. I can’t wait for the show in January – hope to see you all there!”
The multiple Best Actress nominations showcase Jesse Jane’s range as an adult performer, breathing life into complex characters and plots for Digital Playground’s couples-friendly feature films. In 2013, Jesse’s critically acclaimed sex scene in Mothers & Daughters was honored with XBIZ’s award for Best Scene – All-Girl.
Digital Playground’s Online Product Manager, Brian Tassels, says, “Jesse Jane is a real star. She’s the face of Digital Playground, and her having 6 nominations is a true testament of her dedication and star power in the industry. That’s our girl, and we’re grateful to have her.”
For more information regarding Jesse Jane, you can follow her on twitter @JesseJane.
On November 07, 2012 we reported Jesse Jane’s engagement _HERE_ and then again talked about it on November 21, 2012 _HERE_ where she decided to stop doing boys. We even showed you a picture of her engagement ring she got while in Paris with her fiance, her personal trainer boyfriend, now fiance Michael Giovanni.
Now the Las Vegas Sun is reporting something rather different. [source] His story implies that she’s divorced, single and ready to mingle. While we realize she is divorced from her last husband. What about her engagement to Michael Giovanni? That was just a few months ago. This article makes it seem like he’s not a part of her life anymore.
2013 AVN Awards co-host Jesse Jane was getting ready to retire from the porn world when she was here a year ago, but she’s changed her mind and as a single mom discussed it with her son before re-inking her contract.
In a complicated series of corporate takeovers, it has led to her returning to Playboy TV. The blonde bombshell talked with me on her way to Las Vegas for today’s start of the Adult Entertainment Expo at the Hard Rock Hotel and Saturday’s co-hosting role with Asa Akira at The Joint.
“This is my second time hosting,” Jesse told me. “Usually they have you do it only one time, to be fair to everybody, but since it’s the 30th anniversary, they asked me back. It’s six years since I did it anyway.
“I’ve already bought two dresses for the awards. I am still looking for that perfect last dress. I have a white, short rhinestone dress, heart shaped; it is strapless, very pretty. Then I have a crazy dress that is also heart shaped with a bunch of vibrant colors, and it’s short in the front and long in the back with a rhinestone top — and then it just poofs out in all this material. It is super fun and crazy.
“I need one more dress that I still just can’t find that I love. I want something elegant, so I’ll go to a store I love in Vegas. It will probably be a last-minute dress because they always custom it to me in a day.”
I’ve known Jesse from back in her days as a Hooters manager who became a Hawaiian Tropic model before entering the adult-entertainment world. What is she planning for the awards?
“I hate the boring stuff, and I don’t like to follow the scripts that they write,” she laughed. “I want it to be exciting, funny and adventurous. I just can’t read it word-for-word, so I have to throw in my own humor; I am going to throw in some jokes. I can’t follow the rules; I never follow the rules!”
Jesse doesn’t know how many award nominations she has this year. She told me: “I never know because I never pay attention. We are always up for several for Digital Playground, we are always up for Best Group Scene, Best Girl Group Scene. … I am sure ‘Babysitters 2’ is up. There is no way we are not nominated.
“But I still haven’t won Best Female Performer of the Year! I believe that’s due to the fact that I don’t do everything, so I will never get that. There are several things that I don’t do on camera, which I think are requirements, so I will probably never win that one.
“The last time we talked in Vegas at AVN [last year], I was on the verge of retiring. They extended my contract, and the new company that bought Digital Playground also bought Playboy TV, so I am about to take that back over.
“It’s been three years since I was on Playboy. They want me to produce shows. I loved doing Playboy TV; it was so fun, so it will be good to start that back up again. That’s soft porn, where I did the hosting, so now I have two more years left on my contract.
“I had to deal with it with my son when I decided to renew rather than retire. He is at the age now where he is 13, you know, at 11, I let it soften with Playboy TV. I let him know that I have done magazines, and been on TV, and that people see me naked; it’s my job. And now that he turned 13, back in July, we had the talk and everything, and it’s fine.
“Luckily, we still live in a quite mid-country state where you can’t buy it, and you don’t see it. So unless he goes on the Internet, which I am pretty strict about, he can’t see it, and we are good. He totally understands.
“I’m single again. Last March, I split up with my husband, so I am divorced. I’m not coming to Vegas to look for love, but I am looking for fun. I just want to have fun. Enough of marriage for a while! I have been in a relationship back-to-back-to-back since I was 17, and I think it’s time for me now to just have fun.”
(Her fun included checking out Chippendales at The Rio on Tuesday night; thanks to Scott Harrison for his photo gallery of Jesse with dancers Sami Eskelin, Jon Howes, Nathan Minor and John Rivera.)
Jesse has parlayed her porn profession into other businesses. “My tequila business is going really well, and people are loving it. We’re slowly saturating the markets across the country. We’re about to expand into Texas and Chicago.
“I have another deal I’m working on that we should wrap up while I am in Vegas. A lot of people want me to start writing my book, but I am not ready yet. They are pressuring me to at least start writing down stories, or have a ghostwriter, but I just figure what is the point when I am still in porn. I figure wait until the end, then I give you the beginning to the end.
“I never thought I’d go from Hooters to this business. This has exceeded my expectations by far. I love my job. I have no regrets. People who get in this and are unsuccessful — they are like, ‘This business ruined me’ — that is because they aren’t smart in this. My job has been great to me, and I am still having the time of my life.”
I got a press release today that said Jenna Haze is one of the most popular women in the world and that caught my attention. Since I make it my business to monitor porn star popularity as part of my full time job, I knew that while it is true Jenna Haze is rather popular, her overall popularity has began to wane in the past year. She sat perfectly atop the porn star popularity list at Fame Registry for a while, pretty much solid for like 3 years but this year she was replaced by more active performers like Jesse Jane and Sunny Leone. Of course Sunny Leone’s popularity is in no doubt in large part to her mega popularity in India, which has more than 3 times the population of the United States.
So how is it possible that Jenna Haze makes the the co-ed list (source) as the top 50 most popular women and girls like Sunny Leone and Jesse Jane don’t?
Turns out their website explains just that. They came up with their own list of 300 people, just any 300 female celebrities they could think of. Then they ran a “keyword frequency” report for each of the celebs. Problem is keyword frequency has nothing to do with actual number of searches performed.
Keyword frequency is how often a keyword or keyword phrase (ie: “Jenna Haze”) appears in a page that is currently in the Google database. So basically what this means is that at the time the search was performed Google has X pages within their database that includes that keyword. And even more funny about the magazine’s list for the “year” is that the data they are using isn’t for the year, it’s a number for Google’s database at that exact moment and that number changes greatly from day to day and from month to month. A celeb can have a keyword frequency of 2 million today, 100 million tomorrow and 150,000 next month. The Google database really does change that much and that often. Let me show you what a keyword frequency report looks like. (see figure below)
Don’t get me wrong, I love Jenna Haze. I have nothing against her but this list from co-ed magazine is flawed. While keyword frequency is a valuable SEO metric, it doesn’t exactly give you accurate numbers and it has absolutely nothing to do with the total number of searches done of that performer. The funny part is, now you have all of these people out there quoting this article on some blog that is absolutely false.
Their report claims that more people Google Lana Del Rey than Britney Spears and that more people Google Jenna Haze than Shakira. So how accurate is the report? Well 673,000 people Google’d Jenna Haze while 11.1 million Googled Shakira. 9,140,000 … that’s 9.1 million people Google’s Sunny Leone while 2.1 million Googled Jesse Jane.
The 2013 AVN Nomination are out! [source]
The collective breath the adult entertainment industry has been holding while it anticipates the announcement of the nominees for the AVN Awards can be exhaled. The highly sought-after list of nominees for the 2013 AVN Awards has arrived.
Download the complete list of nominees by clicking here.
A committee of 10 AVN critics spent close to a month and a half compiling nominations in over 130 categories recognizing companies, talent, technicians and creative professionals across the spectrum of the adult entertainment industry.
Several new categories were created to reflect the ever-evolving market trends of the business; these include Best Star Showcase (a movie centered around one female performer by both incorporating her name into its title and featuring her in all of its sex scenes), Best Romance Release (a title with a romance theme/storyline marketed specifically toward women or couples and/or released under a Romance or Couples-Themed line) and Best Transsexual Sex Scene.
Additionally, a number of formerly familiar categories have been reintroduced to the awards as the market has expanded accordingly. Back for 2013 are Best New Production Company and Best Continuing Series (which was previously known as Best All-Sex/Vignette Series.)
Finishing up the housekeeping, Best Feature has been renamed Best Drama in order to properly complement Best Comedy, and Best All-Sex Release – Mixed Format has been retitled Best Wall-to-Wall Release for those releases that mix scene genres between gonzo, vignette and all-sex.
“Everybody on our nominations committee has literally poured their blood, sweat and tears into producing this list over the past six or so weeks, and I can honestly say that in my almost decade at AVN, I don’t think we’ve ever done a more meticulous and thorough job,” AVN Senior Editor Peter Warren said. “I am very pleased with the nominees we’ve come up with, and wish them all a stupendous weekend basking in the glow of being recognized.”
AVN Managing Editor Steve Javors echoed his colleague’s comments.
“I’m really proud of the work the nominations committee did,” he said. “The 30th anniversary of the most important night in adult entertainment is something we all took seriously, and being an AVN award nominee is a big point of pride. Rightfully so. Our nominees should be congratulated and recognized for a job well done. On behalf of everyone at AVN, we appreciate all your contributions to the world of adult entertainment.”
The announcement of those individuals elected to the AVN Hall of Fame will be made in the coming days.
AVN Media Network recently announced the 2013 Award Show hosts—adult superstars Asa Akira and Jesse Jane, along with the show’s musical guest, hip-hop sensation Tyga.
A limited number of tickets to the gala awards are available for fans to purchase through AVNAwards.com. Industry members receive reserved seating. More information about reserved seating may be obtained by emailing Bonnie LeBlanc at email@example.com. Studios or groups wishing to purchase a table at the show should also email LeBlanc.
Celebrating its 30th year, the AVN Awards show is the adult industry’s biggest night, and the awards themselves are the industry’s highest honor. With a stylish red carpet pre-show and lavish star-studded ceremony, AVN celebrates outstanding achievements in the world of adult entertainment. The AVN Awards is a must-attend, must-see event featuring the hottest stars from adult and mainstream pop culture.
The AVN Awards will take place after the annual Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE). AEE runs Jan. 17-19, also in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. AEE includes traditional exhibits, meeting rooms, exhibit suites, networking events, parties, product demos and educational components.

It looks like the rumors are true … porn sensation Jesse Jane has opted to no longer perform on camera with male talent (at least for now). She’s saving it all for her real life man and new fiance. It doesn’t seem to however have hurt her popularity as she comes in yet again as the #1 contract star in the world over at Fame Registry this month.
Mike South first reported this rumor last week and my sources are saying the rumor looks to be true.
