Fame Registry Gets a Major Makeover

After more than ten years online, FameRegistry.com gets an extensive makeover. The site which is a who’s who of famous porn stars, not only got a graphical overhaul but the database was expanded from 350 to now include more than 5,000 female porn stars.

“I’ve worked really hard over the last few months to update the Fame Registry database. I’ve been tracking porn star popularity for more than a decade but now we take it up a notch to include biographies with greater emphasis on awards and special honors they have won,” says Kelli Roberts, who runs the Fame Registry website.

Fame Registry’s database now includes every winner of every award ever won for the AVN Awards, XBIZ Awards, Nightmoves Awards, XRCO Awards, and the Pornhub Awards. Fame Registry also lists each award won on the performer’s biography page.

“We now track and report special honors such as the Girlsway Girl of the Month, the Cherry Pimps Cherry of the Month, Penthouse Pet of the month, Twistys Treat of the Month and the Vixen Angel of the Month. It’s a big deal for girls to win these special titles and we wanted to make sure that each of our biography pages makes note of these honors,” notes Kelli Roberts.

Fame Registry uses proprietary algorithms that take into account several measures of popularity for porn stars. The primary forms of measure include who people are looking for when they search for porn stars using major search engines like Google, and Bing. In addition, we factor in the popularity of a porn star’s official website, social media following, and the number of awards they have won from AVN, XBIZ, NightMoves, XRCO and PornHub. All of this information is combined to determine who really is the best of the best.

Fame Registry announces 3rd annual Award Winners

Each month Fame Registry tracks the popularity hundreds of porn stars based on things like how many movies they have been in, how many times they have graced the cover of major men’s magazines, how many friends they have on social networking sites, how many times per day fans search for them on the internet, etc. Each year we take all this data and produce a list for the hottest porn stars of that year.  The Fame Registry awards is an annual event and the winners are announced every year on August 30th via twitter @FameRegistry. This is the third year of the Fame Registry awards.

How many people Google’d You Today?

Companies pay search engines like Google money to advertise every time people like me and you search for specific keywords.  The more people per month search a specific keyword or keyword phrase, the more money Google and other search engines can charge that company for that ad.

The interesting part of that whole dynamic is that is also gives us a unique insight into the popularity of your favorite porn stars.   Sites like Fame Registry use this data to help determine the overall popularity of your favorite stars.

So I decided to take a closer look today at the number of searches for some of your favorite stars.  Just curious really how many people really do Google them.  I grabbed some porn stars names which are some of the better known porn stars.   These are all stars we kn ow and love but which of them gets Googled the most?

  • Sunny Leone  – 5,000,000
  • Jesse Jane – 1,220,000
  • Jenna Jameson – 1,220,000
  • Bree Olson – 1,000,000
  • Jenna Haze – 673,000
  • Nikki Benz – 673,000
  • Riley Steele – 450,000
  • Gemma Massey – 246,000
  • Jessica Drake – 201,000

Sunny Leone has been heating up the search engines lately with all of her new found fame over in India.  Between her appearance on the reality show Big Brother, her being cast in I think 2 or maybe 3 mainstream movies over in Bollywood and not one but two different endorsement deals, including one for a cell company over there, you can see why she has so many fans searching their hearts out to find everything they can about her.

Much to my surprise Jesse Jane gets Google’d just as much as Jenna Jameson did … well at least last month.  I’m sure after the whole Jenna Jameson DUI thing her numbers next month will be much higher but at least for now she’s about on part with Jesse Jane.

Next we have the Goddess herself, Bree Olson.  Despite having been out of the media circus for awhile now, she still gets an impressive number of searches each day.

Jenna Haze who has recently dropped in the rankings over at Fame Registry but still ranks very high in overall popularity and is on par in searches with Nikki Benz who was last year’s Penthouse Pet of the Year.

Riley Steele comes in below them with an impressive 450,000 searches a month and below that is British porn sensation Gemma Massey.  Both of them are really the newest performers on the list.  While all the others have years of experience on them, these two young starlets are holding their own with the best of them.

And below all of them is Wicked Contract girl Jessica Drake.  Considering how long she has been with them I’ve very surprised at how low her numbers are.  She’s below Madelyn Marie (who has 301,000 searches last month) who hasn’t been in a single movie or adult promotional event in what … like two years now?  It’s nothing personal … just seems a little off to me.  I just don’t know why her numbers are so low.

So now you know how the top stars rank each month, at least in terms of how many times each day someone goes out there and Google’s them.  Jesse Jane coming in line with Jenna Jameson is a very impressive feat.  A huge congrats to her and all the other stars on the list!  They’ve all done an amazing job at keeping their fans busy wanting more and more of them, which is what gets them Google’d in the first place.

Sunny Leone Nabs #1 Spot at Fame Registry

For the first time Sunny Leone takes the number one position at porn star ranking site Fame Registry, which is no doubt in large part to the work she has been doing in India.  Recently Sunny Leone was cast in the reality TV show Big Boss, which is one of the most popular reality shows in India which follows the Big Brother format.  She was also cast in a mainstream Bollywood movie which she is currently in India filming.  Prior to this months Fame Registry rankings, Jenna Haze has held the #1 spot for some time.   With Jenna’s recent retirement announcement it will be interesting to see if she is able to regain the number one position or continues to drop down the popularity list in the coming months.

Fame Registry recently announced the nominees for their annual awards.  Today they announced a previously unknown category to the awards.  This one is called

The Sexy Webmistress Award

The sexy webmistress award is based on the overall popularity of the porn star’s website however the website must be actually run by the porn star herself … while sure she may hire a graphics artist here and there or a programmer to do some things but in the end, the site is one she runs herself and this winner will be selected based on the one who did her job best and ran the most popular official website. Again remember this is based on data collected during 2010.

I asked for clarification in this specific category and was told that while it is more than understandable that no one person can know everything, or do everything themselves, meaning – it is more than understandable that sometimes porn stars may hire a guy to do graphics here and there or perhaps some SEO or maybe to edit their videos for them but in the end, there is a difference between a site actually run by a porn star and those farmed out to networks like Blazing Bucks or Premium Cash or whatever.    It’s not to say there is anything wrong with that, it’s just that this award is specifically for those who run their own sites.

It’s that time of year again … time for the Fame Registry Porn Star Awards!

Each month Fame Registry tracks the popularity hundreds of porn stars based on things like how many movies they have been in, how many times they have graced the cover of major men’s magazines, how many friends they have on social networking sites, how many times per day fans search for them on the internet, etc. At the end of each year we take all this data from the previous year and produce a list for the hottest porn stars.
