Audrey Hollander Parties Tonight in Houston

It’s that time of year … the time of year where the porn stars dress up and hit the town for all the fun costume parties and tonight our very own Audrey Hollander is attending one such party in her hometown of Houston, Texas.

I gave the club a call to find out more about them as I haven’t heard of it before.  Turns out The Sunset Strip in Houston is rather new and well … that’s probably why I haven’t heard of them before.  The manager tells me they have been open for about 14 months.  The club is located on 290, not to far off from 610, at 2425 Mangum Road.

Major syphilis outbreak in Houston, Texas

You know what they say … things are bigger in Texas and apparently that includes their STD outbreaks.  Local health officials are reporting a nearly 100% increase in new infections of syphilis in the Houston and surrounding areas.

[source]  Syphilis is exploding in Houston and Harris County, local health officials said Wednesday.

Houston’s health department reported a nearly 100 percent increase in new infectious syphilis cases during the first seven months of 2012 compared to the same time period last year. The outbreak reverses a trend of syphilis cases decreasing between 2008 and 2011.

The department “strongly recommends that medical providers, particularly those that provide health care services for men, determine if their patients are at increased risk for syphilis,” the city said in a news release. The department “also urges medical providers to offer testing for syphilis, immediately report syphilis to their local health department and provide prompt treatment to infected people and their sexual partners.”

Syphilis, which can cause serious complications if left unchecked, is easily treatable with antibiotics.

A total of 318 infectious syphilis cases were reported in Harris County from January through August of this year, according to the Houston health department. The total for all of 2011 was 264.

The 2012 cases amount to 7.5 cases per 100,000 people, up from 4.2 through the same period in 2011. The recent high is 7.8 cases per 100,000 people in 2007.

Roughly 39 percent of people with infectious syphilis in 2012 also tested positive for HIV.

The health department, which has intensified syphilis detection and community field work and expanded the schedule of its HIV/STD mobile clinic, is urging immediate testing for syphilis for men who have sex with men; people who engage in anonymous sex; anyone who has had multiple sex partners; and people who test positive for other sexually transmitted disease.

Just last week, San Antonio health official began assigning case workers to follow syphilis-infected women through their pregnancies to ensure proper treatment because of the rising numbers of babies born with the disease there.

Adult escort site ad asks for toy donations

HOUSTON (KTRK) — A toy drive during the holidays — but this one unlike any we’ve ever seen before.  An ad posted on an adult escort website promises more time with the woman in exchange for donations to Toys for Tots.

The phone number attached to that online ad goes right to a woman who has been in trouble with the law before for prostitution. The number I called was advertising a Toys for Tots special.  The person who answered the phone told me that she was, in fact, Robin Jordan — the woman who was arrested earlier this year and convicted last month for operating an Internet-based prostitution operation out of her Fort Bend County home.

Robin Jeanette Jordan was arrested in March, according to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, and convicted just last month for prostitution.  She was given 12 days in jail.  Authorities say she was running her escort service right out of her Pecan Grove home.

She’s out of custody now and is the woman we apparently reached when we dialed the phone number posted along with an online ad for escort services.  The ad currently offers a “Santa’s little helper/Toys for Tots special.”

The site, which shows an undressed woman in provocative poses, wishes you “Happy Holidays” and claims if you pay for one hour of services and bring an unwrapped gift, your second hour will be free.

  “It’s awful, obviously, especially in a neighborhood like this,” said neighbor Jennifer Vontz.

Neighbors in this relatively quiet subdivision say they are not surprised.

“For them to use that just to lure people in, I think that’s just really sad,” said neighbor Valerie Work.

When contacted, Toys for Tots knew nothing of these ads.

Brian Murray, Vice President of Marine Toys for Tots, told me, “We don’t want to associate with any person who would besmirch the reputation of the US Marine Corps … or the Toys for Tots organization.”

Murray says every year people claim to be affiliated with Toys for Tots, when they are not, profiting from the organization’s goodwill and charity which they offer needy children.

Jordan would not confirm she placed the ads, but by phone earlier told me she would meet for us to hear her side of the story.  Jordan never returned calls when we repeatedly tried to contact her this afternoon, nor did anyone wish to comment at her Pecan Grove home.

The Houston Police Department has launched an additional investigation, based on the evidence we have submitted to them.

We’ve learned Jordan faces a charge of child endangerment in Fort Bend County.  Child Protective Services is also attempting to terminate her parental rights based on this case and the way she allegedly treated her three-year-old daughter.
