Nikki Benz Gets 3 FAME Award Nominations

Adult entertainment superstar Nikki Benz is right in the middle of a spectacular summer dance tour and while on the road this week, she received some excellent news when the 2010 F.A.M.E. Awards Nominations were announced.

Nikki has been nominated for three F.A.M.E. Awards this year, Hottest Body, Favorite Breasts and Favorite Female Starlet. The F.A.M.E. Awards (www.thefameawards.com) are the industry’s largest interactive awards based solely on the interaction of fan voting.

From Memphis, Nikki heads up to the Christie’s in Cleveland for another five night engagement June 22 to 26.

Many years ago the now infamous Larry Flynt lawyer (the one portrayed in the movie The People vs Larry Flynt) created a guide for us to follow.  This guide he called Cambria’s List of Naughty No No’s.  Over the years I have talked about it.  For example the AEBN story I wrote I think sometime last year.  If you haven’t read it yet, now you really should.

Twitter Banks on Disney

Well sort of.  Don’t get me wrong, Twitter still has major problems when it comes to keeping their servers up, but what they do now have is a way to make money to pay for more servers!  Those who use the web interface of Twitter might have noticed a change in the Trending topics today and that is a little PROMOTED icon next to one of the entries.  You click on it and you get the normal trending topics for that word phrase but at the very top you get a listing that is paid and in this case, paid for by Disney.  Yes it works very much like paid keywords in search engines ala Google Adwords.

What’s important here is that for the first time Twitter had made a move to being a financially viable entity and that ensures the long term viability of the service.

More and more these days consumers are taking to online social networking sites or blogs to bitch about something or someone who has wronged them.  Up until recently it was a true free for all.  You could pretty much get away with saying or doing anything you wanted online.

Then came the first lawsuit where a judge ordered the secret identity of an anonymous blogger known so that they could pursue her legally for slamming their company.  And now this.

In this story a guy went on his facebook page bitching about a tow truck company he felt screwed him out a hundred bucks.  They in turned sued him for $750,000 for defamation of character.

So before you get upset about some jack ass and want to post your story about them, think twice because a lot of companies are hurting for cash right now and getting it by settling cases like this with people.  Suck ass lawyers are the new get rich quick scheme of the day.

The adult industry is not immune to this either.  There are some companies out there that might actually be bankrupt and out of business right now if it were not for a shifty eye’d lawyer that came up with a plan to sue the shit out a ton of others and then settle with them for much less than it would be worth for them to deal with.  Now that company can afford to be in business just a little bit longer.

This is happening every single day in our industry.  So beware my friends.  It’s a really crazy time out there right now.
