LOS ANGELES — (August 3, 2010) – Vivid Girl Lia returns to her roots as a web girl when she appears in multiple scenes in the upcoming mainstream movie “Middle Men” to be released by Paramount on August 6th.

Lia was a superstar on the web with her solo site www.lia19.com before she signed on to make movies exclusively with Vivid, the world’s leading adult film company.

“Middle Men” was directed by George Gallo and written by Gallo and Andy Weiss for Oxymoron Entertainment. Inspired by a true story, the movie takes us back to 1995 as the porn industry was beginning to realize the potential of the Internet. Businessman Jack Harris (played by Luke Wilson) meets up with Wayne Beering (Giovanni Ribisi) and Buck Dolby (Gabriel Macht) who have developed a way to make money from adult entertainment on the web. Jack gets involved not just with the new business, but also with a beautiful porn star. The FBI also plays a role in the film as Harris rakes in millions of dollars and becomes one of the first wealthy porn entrepreneurs.

“I had a blast working on the movie and it was fascinating for me to learn how the adult web business was started and developed,” said Lia. “I think my own experiences in the Internet business and more recently making movies like “Lia’s First Time” and “The Rush” for Vivid helped me a lot.  As we were making the movie I was asked to become a consultant to actress Laura Ramsey, who plays the love interest, and taught her some of the things she needed to know about the adult industry from my own background.”

In addition to Ramsey, others in “Middle Men” include Jacinda Barrett, Terry Crews, Rade Sherbedgia, Kevin Pollak and James Caan.

Lia can be seen on the movie poster and will be attending the nationwide premiere and screening parties.

I was trolling the boards of Adult DVD Talk today when something rather interesting popped out at me.  It was a rep from Vivid making bold statements how they are being progressive and new.  I was rather impressed.  They typically stand in the background and don’t say shit.

We are not your fathers Vivid. We brought in B Skow to do what the fans were asking for, you are correct.  If someone hasn’t seen Vivid in years, they would be very happy if they bought a new release. Gonzo sex in a feature film is the best of both worlds. Everyone is happy.

Next came a question by someone who if anyone spends any time on the ADT boards will know is very anti-Vivid.  But he had a good question.

Crucifixio_Jones wrote:  “I know I can’t be the only one absolutely shocked that that girl Lia didn’t work out and that Vivid chose not to renew her contact.”

Now the shocker is the rep from Vivid’s response.  It was actually an HONEST answer.  Holy fucking shit.  Maybe there really is a new Vivid.

If you saw any of her movies we shot, she was good, but the sex was not great. Just being honest.  She has always been a solo artist, she was big on the internet. But her boy/girl scenes were just not all there.  Her fans liked it, but it needs to be 100%.

Where is Lia 19? Did she ditch her Vivid contract too?

In August of last year Vivid announced they signed Lia as a new Vivid girl. Like with most new contract stars we tend to have to wait a few months for anything new but more than a few months have passed and not only do we not have any hint of Lia’s first feature films from Vivid but she also isn’t doing any promotions for Vivid like the other girls. In fact for New Year’s Eve Vivid had only AJ Bailey to host their party so they also hired Monique Alexander and Sunny Leone to help her. Where was Nikki Jayne and Lia or Savanna Samson?   Lia was also missing during all the Vivid Halloween parties.  So what do you think is going on?  Could Lia have quit before she ever got started?  Could there be something else going on?  Maybe something with the website contract?  I’ll have to do some digging and find out.

I’m so glad I finally got up the nerve to meet him, but more important I’m thrilled he thought I have what it takes to be a Vivid contract actress. Now I’m super-excited about making my first movie with the best company.  It will be my first everything on camera and I am going for it because I don’t want to have any regrets about not trying.”
 
“We were not only impressed with Lia’s enthusiasm to be a contract actress with Vivid, but with her accomplishments as a web entrepreneur,” said Hirsch. “She has a loyal following of fans from her site and she’s taken careful steps in her career from a mainstream to bikini to nude model.  Now that she’s ready for hardcore, we’re happy to welcome her.”
 
Lia, who says she considers herself outgoing, open-minded and easy to get along with, runs through her personal profile:  “I’m definitely a girl who is one of the guys. I love sports.  I was a swimmer, lifeguard and water polo player in high school.  I got into golf while I was modeling and found out I’m pretty good.
