Forget the wild, wild west — the only place Jesse James seems to be a threat these days is at Wal-Mart.  The guy behind West Coast Choppers is being sued for allegedly masterminding a plan to screw a company out of a serious fashion deal.




According to the suit, filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, James was co-creating a line called “America’s Brand” with intentions of selling the clothes through Wal-Mart — when he suddenly decided to cut out his partner at the last minute.




But it gets worse — the bitter party claims James then stole a key employee, renamed the line after himself — and started selling the clothes at Wal-Mart anyway. Now, they want a ton of money to make things right — we’re talkin’ at least $200,000.

I confess I’m not much for looking at men’s magazines.  I mean sure I know the big ones like Penthouse, Playboy and Hustler but apparently there are quite a few more.  I caught a glance of a web page featuring Vivid’s newest tartlet, Meggan Mallone.  On this page it said that this year alone Meggan Mallone has either been on the cover or featured in 6 different magazines.   My any standards that’s pretty fucking impressive but that’s not what caught my attention.  What caught my attention is that just two hours earlier I was reading a story about how ad sales are down as much as 23% in traditional print media and that circulation has plummeted.  You hear this kind of thing all the time.  Instead of reading a real magazine people just prefer to go online and see what they can find.  In fact some magazines have gone all digital as a result.

So back to men’s magazine’s.  I had no idea how many of them there really are.  I think this has to contribute to lacking sales figures.  Quite frankly there are just to fucking many of them.  I read in one place there are some 318 different men’s magazines currently in circulation.  THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTEEN?!!! So can we name some of these?  Sure but I promise I can’t name many.  Here are some of the more successful ones.  And out of this short life, I must ask, do we really really need even this many?

Something just isn’t right here about this Hanna Hilton hooker story.  It’s been bugging me for days, since I posted that story I found about her being a call girl or escort or whatever you want to call it these days.  Here is what is bugging me about this story, my momma always said when all else fails common sense will prevail.  Common sense in this story is what is failing.

Hanna Hilton either makes $750 or $2,000 to spend 1 hour with a client as a hooker.   This may or may not be true, not saying if it is, just hear me out on the math behind it because something isn’t adding up.

So as a Vivid girl we are told she probably earns around $80,000 to $100,000 a year for her contract, which is typically paid out every two weeks, like as if she had a job.  That’s not bad money but considering she only has to work about 3 to 4 days a month for the entire year, it’s even better.

Considering the fact that she was a former Penthouse pet and popular Internet model before coming to Vivid she probably got the higher end of the new girl contract so we can safely assume she’s not doing so bad with her weekly paychecks.

This also doesn’t account for the money she makes from her own personal website.  If you take the average earnings of an membership website, assume her traffic based on data found at sites like Alexa.com and Compete.com, and guessing she probably makes a 50/50 cut with whoever is running it minus 20% administrative costs, you can pretty much guess she makes about $1,500 a month or maybe as much as $2,000 on her personal website.  That’s not bad, on top of the money she makes from her Vivid contract.  On the low end we are now talking an estimated $8,000 a month here.

That being said we also know that a Vivid girl and former Penthouse Pet and popular Internet model no doubt has quite a few requests for personal appearances.  These she can expect to make about $2,500 to $5,000 to show up to a location and be there for an hour or two.   This doesn’t account for the extra money she will make on selling her DVDs that she signs, etc.  Girls always make good money.  One girl I think it was Racquel Darrian was said to make $1 million a year alone on just personal appearances and feature dancing.  Obviously Hanna Hilton isn’t that famous yet but let’s say she makes about $5,000 a day with her sales and fees and does about 3 a year.  That’s not much but it’s also known that she doesn’t tend to do a lot of these things.  But even at only a few each year that’s still roughly an extra $15,000 - but let’s round it down to $12,000 since we don’t really know FOR SURE her schedule.  That gives her $1,000 a month in personal appearance fees and related earnings.  That puts her salary at about $9,000 a month.

Now this is the part that gets me confused.   Why would you make $750 to $2,000 when you could make $2,500 to $5,000 and not even have to have sex?  Nobody is that stupid.  I mean think about it.  Would you take $2,000 or $2,500?  I mean duh!  Of course you would want the most money and no doubt so does she.

So then why would she spend her free time making $750 to $2,000 when she could be making personal appearances and earning $2,500 to $5,000?  It doesn’t make sense.

When it comes to Vivid we are all laughing it up about how much we don’t like their movies or whatever but let me tell you this, their shit sales.  Their movies are seen in hotel rooms across America as well as on cable TV versions and PPV specials.   And that’s why someone with the Vivid Girl title can command major cash just to show up and sign autographs at your store.  May sound insane to you and me but the Vivid girls have well known faces and names in mainstream society and that is what retailers want — it draws in the fans and fans that come in are likely to buy shit.

So then we factor in any money she makes which we can basically estimate to be about $9,000 a month, not including what her boyfriend was making prior to going to jail, she couldn’t have been hurting to much?  I mean $9,000 a month?  Hello?!  That’s great fucking money by any standards.  Why would she also be hooking?  It doesn’t add up my friends.

I’m going to go on the record as saying I just don’t buy the story that she’s a part time hooker.  The numbers aren’t computing. No matter how you do the math, $2,000 an hour to blow some dumb ass you don’t know is never as great as $2,500 to stand around and smile while people kiss your ass. What do you think she would chose?

Briana Banks dropped a bombshell on Sunday night via her MySpace page, announcing on her myspace page that after many years of a long and profitable relationship she is leaving the loving arms of Vivid to start her own line of movies of which she will call it “Briana Banks Entertainment”.

I first read about the story over at AdultFYI and PS Babylon, and didn’t give it much thought.  I mean why would this girl who only recently started doing boy / girl scenes and is signed with Vivid be hooking on the side?  No way, no fucking how.  I’ve seen far to many fake escort bios to believe this shit, right?

Wrong!  It looks like something may just be true in this story.  The Adult FYI story referenced a website (Naughty Reviews), as proof of the story.  On its own I would have discounted this website all together because it’s very common for fake escort bios to go up or moreover, real escorts using fake photos.

This review site listed Hanna Hilton as only 4 out of 5 stars when it came to performance.  One reviewer who claims to have been with her said ……

Some idiots laughed him off, sure that DVDs would be around for the next 20 or 30 years. Time would prove Larry Flynt correct.




Club Jenna may be the first major studio (if you can call Club Jenna that) to phase out DVDs but they weren’t the first to think about it or start investing in making it happen.  Studios like Vivid would seriously begin looking into distributing their movies through the Internet this same year.  Through the Vivid website, a member can watch about 800 of the Vivid titles, for one monthly price.




As Internet retailers report in some cases as much as 90% drops in sales, VOD “theaters” that have begun to pop up like AEBN, you can rent thousands and thousands of movies, including all the titles from major studios like Vivid, wicked Pictures and Digital Playground.  Pick the movie you want to watch and download it.  No need for a DVD there and no drop in sales either.  These sites are reporting record growth, despite the sluggish economy.




Truth is, VOD is coming whether we like it or not.   It’s also why you hear rumors like the ones posted at Adult FYI about “secret” meetings by studio heads and other big companies having meetings trying to fix a higher price for current VOD titles.  VOD titles may be cheaper to distribute, but movies still cost money to make and larger studios want a bigger cut per sale.  So what that means is, right now you may be able to get a movie for $7 through those VOD theater websites, but in the future that same movie may cost you $12, that is if these studio heads get their way.




Who knows.  Everything this changing so much right now.  It’s crazy and this Club Jenna thing really just pushed things forward faster than most expected.  With Club Jenna leading the way other studios will follow suit.  It’s al just a matter of time.




DVDs aren’t just out in the porn world either.  Mainstream companies like NetFlix and Blockbuster Online are already toying around with VOD distribution models and by all accounts are having great success with them.




When most assumed the next big thing in porno movies would be hi def or bluray, in reality that’s not a market big enough to invest must time in.   It’s to niche and expensive for most people.  I mean we would all love to be able to afford to pay $70 per movie for the Bluray version, but the reality of the situation is, the economy sucks and people don’t want to pay more for something. If nothing else, we can say that Jenna Jameson may have lead the way for the outing of DVDs, but the economy really is the driving force behind that. People want more porn for less money.
