VRPorn.com Unveils a Rare Look at Virtual Reality Numbers

BaDoinkVR Discovers That Customers Like Convenience, Mid-Range Prices

VENICE, CA – With the porn industry desperately searching for some way to break out of its financial death spiral, virtual reality is frequently lauded as the white horse – but do the numbers support it?

Companies both mainstream and adult have been reluctant to make any numbers public, but BaDoinkVR, which specializes in adult VR content, is now the exception – and they are offering some interesting and important insight.

VRPorn.com has a new piece written by hardvr that takes a look at the numbers released by BaDoinkVR – and these numbers are “quite surprising.”

Download statistics show that Gear VR remains the dominant headset, accounting for 40% of all BaDoinkVR downloads. The Google Cardboard category – basically all other cell phone headsets – were 23% of the download share. Oculus Rift and HTC Vive received 25% while PS4 and Google Daydream took 12%.

“While these numbers are not actual sales figures, they can still provide a useful measure of each headset’s popularity, hardvr writes. “If it’s true that the Gear VR is playing such a dominant role in the VR marketplace, then this tells us a lot about how people are using VR and what content creators can do to capture this growing audience.”

The Gear VR unit is “decidedly more casual” than Oculus Rift or HTC Vive, shorter on features in an effort to create a more cost-effective and convenient experience. Still, it is much higher quality than the Google Cardboard level headsets.

“Gear VR is also different from the Rift or Vive in that it encourages a more condensed type of interaction,” according to hardvr. “Users of the Gear VR are less likely to be interested in using their headset for extended periods of time and instead are much more inclined towards brief experiences. These users would much rather have a concise experience that can be easily accessed than an elaborate adventure that requires hours of engagement.”

And that is exactly the kind of information the adult industry needs to know as they attempt to cash in on the coming VR craze.

VRPorn.com: How Facebook Can Help Make CGI Virtual Reality Porn

Official Tool Allows Users to Capture 360 Content

VENICE, CA – The difficult task of capturing 3D content in a form that could provide spherical 360 video has just become a lot easier – and you can thank Facebook.

Writing for VRPorn.com, DrSchlonginhymen writes that Facebook has an official tool that allows users to capture 360 content from 3D games and 3D modeling simulations. This can potentially be used to make CGI virtual reality adult content.

Found on Facebook’s GitHub page, 360-Capture-SDK, this is a VR 360 capture tool rather than a 3D content producing engine like Unity or React VR. It allows one to capture 360 videos of virtual environments as a player moves around or does dirty things in a 3D environment.

“A first-person adult sex simulator in Unity could be turned into a tool for making virtual reality porn,” he writes. “The SDK toolkit would allow a full 360 degrees to be captured instead of the regular 90 degrees that a player or user sees when actually playing or using such an app. Normally, screen recording apps will capture only what a player or user is looking at.

“Using Facebook’s new tool, a full 360 sphere can easily be captured in any Unity app (other engines are also compatible as well). To make a CGI VR porn with this tool, a CGI virtual reality porn director would first direct and animate their CGI fuck bots while recording a 360 replay video. Because a full 360 sphere is captured, when viewed, users will be able to look around anywhere as the CGI action unfolds. The freedom to look around anywhere provides the virtual reality illusion that gives users the impression that they are in the VR action.”

Believe the Hype! Another Big Mainstream Article on VRPorn.com

Hype Magazine Talks to VRPorn.com About the Possibility That VR Could Save Adult

VENICE, CA – The mainstream media is keeping a close eye on how the adult industry forges ahead with virtual reality and this week Hype Magazine is asking a question that’s been whispered around Porn Valley in recent years: “Will VR Porn Save the Adult Industry?”

Subtitled “How technology is winning over piracy,” the piece goes to the industry’s top voice X-rated virtual reality, VRPorn.com founder and CEO Daniel Peterson.

Peterson’s site is not only a premier site for adult VR content, it is also the top source for information on adult VR news and VR tech in general. Hype sat down with the “VR aficionado” and got the lowdown on VR and the future of the adult industry.

It’s no secret that the adult industry has struggled due to a combination of piracy, tube sites and the vast quantity of content available for free over the internet. Can VR really help the industry bring in some much-needed money?

“There is definitely money in VR porn. Virtual reality is still new enough that the producers are able to largely control the distribution of their content,” Peterson explains to Hype.

“And the technology and content is improving all the time. We’re far away from a mature market. This means that if you want good VR porn, you have to pay for it. And this will be true for years.

“Contrast this with standard video porn. There is already enough free content out there to last thousands of lifetimes. And the stuff produced this year is pretty similar to the stuff produced a few years ago, so there isn’t as much demand for the new content that producers are trying to sell. VR porn isn’t immune to the market forces that affect standard porn. There is a race to the bottom occurring, with producers allowing more and more of their content to be released for free. Though this will always be their older content, using older virtual reality technology.”

Peterson explains that studios like Wankz and Naughty America are not only making “serious money,” but “they have never seen a niche grow as quickly as VR.” He points out that VR was science fiction just a few years ago and today there are millions of VR headsets in homes today. The only drawbacks today are the differing standards with the different devices – and that’s a problem VRPorn.com is working hard to lessen.

“Part of our mission is to simplify the process so that it’s as easy as going to a website and pressing play, regardless of your VR setup,” he explains.

The interview also discusses the best equipment to pick up, how VR might affect people’s real sex lives, the different types of content and much more.

VRPorn.com on Terpon’s Next Generation VR Webcams, Innovative Strategy

Company to Offer Low-Priced, No-Contract Rentals to Cammers

VENICE, CA – Camming has become one of the strongest pillars of the adult industry and thanks to a company in Switzerland it’s about to get (even more) real.

In an article titled “Terpon Launches Next Generation VR Webcams” on the VRPorn.com blog, writer DrSchlonginhymen explains that one company, Verpon SA, has launched new webcam VR models, Hermes and Artemis, both of which are risk-free for cameras thanks to an innovative model that offers the cameras as low-cost, contract-free rentals.

“The part of the industry that is growing is live cam,” Terpon CEO Jean-Claude Artonne explained. “But most visitors to these sites only consume what’s free there. If you give them 3-D content, it is something different that they will pay for. Especially if you have a VR headset already, you are committed to finding some new, fun experiences online.”

Artonne adds that the company won’t limit itself to creating for adult in the long-term, but they see an advantage focusing on the industry in order to create for the general market in the future. Their stated goal is to partner with leading webcam models, streaming content studios and webcam websites to become the premier provider of VR cameras to the adult industry.

“We work diligently with webcam studios, independent performers, platform owners and device manufacturers to provide the best possible Virtual Reality experience,” Artonne said. “This includes continual upgrades as new technologies become available and top tier support to ensure a seamless transition from a traditional 2D media environment to a world of truly intimate and exciting 3D VR enjoyment.”

The company is not only providing cutting-edge hardware and software, they are renting without contracts, meaning the users could cancel any time – or keep them as long as they want.

“Terpon’s VR Webcams are striking propositions for Webcam streamers,” DrSchlonginhymen writes. “They provide an exciting new medium of VR webcam streaming. Terpon knows that VR webcam streaming will be huge so they are providing an excellent set of cameras that can stream amazing 3D imagery live.”

These new cameras allow VR webcam streaming, meaning webcam performers can stream a virtual reality feed to users. The users can look around via the head tracking unit in the VR headset, making them feel like they are right there with the performers.

“By focusing on a limited market (the adult live streaming market), Terpon can produce a software and hardware ecosystem that is carefully aligned with adult VR content that is produced and consumed,” DrSchlonginhymen writes. “This means that their cams and software will be designed and developed with the goal of bringing the best possible VR streams to consumers.”

Terpon says it will be giving away 1000 beta-edition cams to influential performers.

VRPorn.com Examines the Ethics of Virtual Reality Porn

Do We Need to Avoid Amateur Content Altogether to Steer Clear of Trouble?

VENICE, CA – It’s easy to get excited about a new technology, especially one so mind-blowing as virtual reality.

But as the technology grows and especially as it becomes more accessible thanks to both increasing popularity and decreasing prices, it’s important to understand that even as it appears to shatter the limits of video technology, it doesn’t eliminate the limits of ethical responsibilities.

In a new article on the VRPorn.com blog, writer ErosVR has offered an in-depth investigation into what could go wrong and what everyone involved must do to keep it real.

Among the many concerns are what will happen when the performers are underage or adults working under duress. And while the fight might seem obvious, the solutions put forth by ErosVR are sure to be controversial.

ErosVR takes an admittedly conservative point of view, suggesting that everyone carefully consider amateur porn and where it comes from.

After all, amateur content isn’t subject to the same regulations as that coming from a professional studio and, as such, perhaps it should be avoided. And with the price of VR equipment plummeting, there are bound to be potholes in the road ahead.

“Every great power comes with a great responsibility: we have to make sure that the medium remains safe, consensual, and void of crime and abuse,” ErosVR writes.

“We can’t stop content from circulating and being distributed around, but we can choose the quality of content we watch. That’s why it would be wiser to stick to the professional and ‘authorized’ content, even though it’s all staged and fake.

“Yes, something authentic, raw, and unstaged stirs our interest much more, but is our foolish curiosity really worth the revenues we’re about to generate for some really sick people? If you ask me, the answer is a certain ‘NO!’”

While keeping the amateur’s hands of VR equipment is going to be impossible – check out the recent article on VRPorn.com about the falling prices on equipment – but it doesn’t leave everyone helpless. Learn how to avoid unsavory content and why it’s important in this new article on the VRPorn.com blog today.

VRPorn.com Takes a Look at Virtual Reality’s Amateur Niche

New Site Promises No Pro Talent, Just a Professional Interface

VENICE, CA – Last week the blog at VRPorn.com posted a fantastic piece about new cameras for shooting virtual reality ranging from $100 to $500 and at those prices they are affordable even to the common man and that means virtual reality is about to get a whole lot of amateur content.

Amateur porn has long been a staple of the adult industry and cameras became more affordable as the internet became bigger, which means anyone has been able to share their images and videos with the world. But amateur virtual reality? This could be fun!

In a blog post this week titled “Amateur Porn Comes to VR,” Hardvr discusses accessibility to amateurs and a new studio catering to the genre, VirtualRealAmateur.

The new site is exclusively amateur even if the delivery system is not. The professional site has the usual filters to help viewers find exactly what they want and every scene has a free preview.

“The variety of actresses featured on the studio range from hot teens to raunchy MILFs, but the one thing they all have in common is inexperience,” Hardvr writes. “Because they’re all so new to being filmed the girls often react in cute, surprising ways that more veteran actresses just can’t imitate.

“Watching a camera-shy girl go from nervous to orgasm right before your very eyes is a unique experience that only amateur films can really create. Like a young girl losing her virginity, an actress’ first porn scene is a precious moment that we should all feel privileged to access, and VirtualRealAmateurPorn allows you to witness just that.”

Be sure to check out VirtualRealAmateur (http://virtualrealamateurporn.com) and check the VRPorn.com blog for the latest in virtual reality news and need-to-know information.

VRPorn.com Looks at Updates to the Waifu Sex Simulator

Not Only Are the Models Looking Better, There Are More of Them, Too

VENICE, CA – VRPorn.com continues to be the leading source of information on everything adult virtual reality with a continued close look at Waifu Sex Simulator (WSS) by Lewd Fraggy.

This is a front end based off of MocuMocuDance that allows you to watch CGI animated porn in a full room scale environment. That means you are able to walk around the 3D environment – but this isn’t about walking.

WSS offers a “HUGE LIST of different models and scenes to view,” including nice backgrounds, music and life size models. WSS 2.1 features several dozen new scenes with new models, outfits, animations and positions. There have also been major improvements to the models and textures. Currently Lewd Fraggy is working on a Unity build of WSS, which will lead to greater improvements.

“While I’d like to see more models, animations, and scenes for WSS 2.1, I think it’s far more important to see the Unity build get fleshed out,” Morndenkainen writes. “Knowing what Unity is capable of with regards to the physics, collisions, and interactivity between the Vive (or any set of VR) controllers and the models, I really want to see this hit a beta stage. Having fully positionable and interactive models would be well worth the wait.”

VRPorn.com: ‘Sex Was Always Virtual: Parts 1 & 2’

Exploring the Concepts of Actual, Virtual and Fantasy – and Applying Them to Porn!

VENICE, CA – In the past few days VRPorn.com has explored the proclamation by Slovenian psychoanalytic philosopher Slavoj that “sex was always virtual.”

In a two-part examination, DrSlonginhymen says this is great news. Armed with this new concept, DrSlonginhymen takes on, for example, a vegan/New Age brother who takes the opposite perspective, contending that “VR sex was a symptom of the decline of western society, a sign of lost passion, and a masturbatory perversion” and others and discovers that Zizek’s philosophy can be broadly applied.

Zizek’s point of view is best summed up by the philosopher himself: “You are never alone with your partner. You need a fantasy. It may even be a fantasy about this partner. Real sex is just masturbation with a real partner.”

The concepts of Actual, Virtual and Fantasy are explored, leading to the conclusion that Zizek “implies that technology is not a problem, it is not ruining the human spirit and not an instrument of our demise as a human race.”

“Zizek argues that even when we have sex with a partner, we just use that partner as a masturbatory tool to connect with our fantasies,” DrSlonginhymen concludes.

“Given that fantasies are part of the virtual plane, sex is then virtual. Taken as a whole, sex has always been a fantasy focused virtual affair. Using VR porn then is not a strange unnatural perversion that is a symptom of our modern downfall. Instead, it is a tool that we use to connect to our fantasies much like we use other people during sexual acts.”

VRPorn.com: Adult Industry Directors Are Leading the Way in Virtual Reality

Mainstream Has a Lot to Learn from Porn’s Lensmen

VENICE, CA – With the adult industry taking the lead in virtual reality content, will there soon come a day when mainstream Hollywood directors will need to make the drive to Porn Valley to learn the craft from smut masters in order to develop mainstream movies? That’s the contention in a new article on VRPorn.com.

The article, written by ErosVR, says that one day not too far away Hollywood will be shooting blockbusters with all-star casts and viewers will be the movies’ protagonists. This is not a discussion about Netflix’s admirable take on VR, rather this is:

When I say VR films and VR cinema, I’m actually referring to full-feature live-action Hollywood productions that are shot with a VR camera and are meant to turn you into the protagonist.

Understanding that there are limitations to the concept – a linear story line, the obligatory happy ending, and avoiding computer-generated content as much as possible.

I know this sounds a lot like sci-fi stuff, but so does today’s VR for quite some time. I like to think that VR porn is only an experimental state of development which explores the capabilities of the technology in terms of filming human actors – and the next step is going to blow our minds and revolutionize the more PG mass-entertainment industry!

One challenge, ErosVR says, is going to be making the jump from computer-generated content with real-life footage – and that’s where Porn Valley is way ahead of Hollywood.

And this is where virtual reality porn becomes very important: the Hollywood movie directors who want to shoot VR masterpieces will have to turn to the porn directors and studios, ask them for advice and learn from them about how the technology is best used. … From a technological and cinematic point of view, virtual reality porn is lightyears ahead anything that was released for entertainment purposes to the masses and isn’t computer-generated: if you have to film any kind of project which involves real human beings and wants to know more about how the distances between subjects should be determined, then the VR porn directors and technicians are the go-to persons.

Once again, porn breaks new ground and sooner or later mainstream will follow.

VRPorn.com Tackles How to Invest in the Virtual Reality Revolution

image courtesy of urban reelsWell-Placed Dollars Today Could Make for a Financially-Secure Future

VENICE, CA – Seeing the future is a great asset if you’re looking to make money, but smart investing is still easier said than done. While it is clear to virtually everyone that virtual reality adult content is poised to take over the industry, how to cash in?

This topic is tackled in a new blog post on VRPorn.com, the top site covering the virtual reality revolution.

You know that virtual reality is the future! So now that you have this valuable knowledge, how do you capitalize off of it? They say that knowledge is power so how can you use this power to make a quick buck? One common way is to invest. There are a few companies right now that are making big strides in virtual reality. An investment in these companies today could mean big dividends for years to come if virtual reality delivers on its promises in the next decade.

Investing is always tricky and even more so when it involves a developing technology. VRPorn.com looks at different options and explains what could make each a winner. For example, look at Oculus. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg was so impressed that he bought the company for $2.3 billion. That’s certainly a strong endorsement for the company and with an investment like that one can be sure that Zuckerberg will want to be sure the company reaches its full potential.

While sales of the Rift have been losing ground recently to alternatives such as the PlayStation VR and HTC Vive, the Oculus brand is still poised to dominate the market when VR takes off. Mainly because it has the money and resources to grow over the long term. Facebook wouldn’t have spent 2 billion dollars on Oculus if they weren’t in it for the long haul so don’t expect a few recent setbacks to scare them off. Zuckerberg himself said the following in an interview with Bloomberg Magazine, “This is a good candidate to be the next major computing platform. It’s worthy of a lot of investment over a long period.”

VRPorn.com has options that depend on where you think VR is going, whether the string will be social media, gaming, hardware or raw processing power. There is already a ton of money floating in the VR pool and there is no reason to think there won’t be a lot more pouring in over the next few years. By investing wisely, some of that money could be yours.
