You know what they say, it’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Well in this case no one gets hurt (usually). Thanks to sites like Brazzers (responsible for parodies like Call of Duty) and Woodrocket (mastermind behind parodies like Pokemon), Porn parodies are hugely popular on adult sites. At RedTube, whenever a new TV show comes out or a movie, or even video games, we see a spike in searches for related parodies. So when UOL– one of the biggest news portals in Brazil, reached out to RedTube inquiring about gaming parodies and porn in general, we immediately looked into it.
As it turns out “Game Parodies” is the fourth largest segment of all parodies on RedTube; behind Superhero content and Film. The segment with the most searches related to parodies was TV. Looking solely at gaming related parody searches, coming out on top is “super mario bros”, followed by “pokemon” and close behind the newly popular “overwatch”. If you look at the overall picture however you can see that TV titles rule the list. Some of the top search terms related to “parody” include “scooby doo”, “movies” in general and “cartoon/hentai”. Some other popular searches containing “parody” are “Friends”, “Buffy the vampire slayer”, “Seinfeld” and “simpsons”.
The top searches related to a query that contained “parody” are much different than the video games that are searched the most on RedTube. As you see in the infograph below, “pokemon” alone, is the most searched for video game title on RedTube. Overwatch is the only other game that even comes close, the rest of the video game titles are light years behind.
