Teen seized in pay-per-view porn film case
PENSACOLA – LEHIGH ACRES – A 16-year-old boy was arrested on charges he repeatedly broke into a home and ordered more than $250 worth of pay-per-view porn movies, authorities said.
The owners of the Lehigh Acres home asked a neighbor to watch their house after noticing $267.43 worth of pornographic movies charged to their DirecTV account. The neighbor called police after seeing the teen inside the home, the (Fort Myers) News-Press reported.
The teen told police he stole a key the homeowner dropped and used it to enter the house nine times. The arrest report said he watched 17 pornographic programs at the home while skipping school.
Attorney faces charges
An attorney disbarred last month after admitting he misappropriated $683,827 from client accounts now faces three felony charges.
Vincent J. Whibbs Jr., 61, was booked into the Escambia County Jail on Wednesday afternoon and was released less than an hour later after posting a $25,000 bond, the Pensacola News Journal reported.
The criminal investigation alleges that Whibbs not only embezzled trust-account money, but that he also bilked another client out of $150,000 to help repay the missing money.
He faces charges of organized fraud, mortgage fraud and grand theft of more than $100,000. Conviction on all three counts would carry a minimum sentence of two years in state prison and a maximum of 65 years, Assistant State Attorney Russ Edgar said.
Edgar said he has not completed the investigation he started about eight months ago.
"It’s likely more charges will be filed," Edgar said.
Whibbs is the son of the late Pensacola Mayor Emeritus Vince Whibbs Sr.
The Whibbs family issued a brief statement about the charges.
"He has the support of his entire family and many friends as he moves through the judicial process," the statement said.
