A man charged with killing a missing Kokomo woman told police she died during sex, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Robert C. Roe, 35, was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on a charge of murder in the death of Michelle Renee Young, 42. He was being held without bond in the Howard County Jail.

Police said Roe, who was in jail on an unrelated charge, led officers to Young’s body along Wildcat Creek near downtown Kokomo on Aug. 2. Young had been reported missing May 6 and her family had not seen her since April 21.

Roe told investigators that Young died after he tightened a belt from his robe around her neck to "further her pleasure" during sex on April 22, a probable cause affidavit alleged. He called the woman’s death an accident.

According to the affidavit, Roe told officers he left the woman’s body in his residence for two days, then put her body in a trash can and buried her near the creek.
