Former porn star turned mainstream Hollywood darling is back in the news, and this time she's talking about her time in the industry. Chloe Cherry debuted on Euphoria in Season 2, and her star has since exploded in the mainstream. Recently she opened up about sexual harassment and the starkly different experiences she witnessed while working in the restaurant and porn in her recent appearance on the Emily Ratajkowski podcast "High Low." This, of course, blew up the comments with women coming out of the woodwork claiming how women are raped on camera. Although a few waitresses spoke up, agreeing that Chloe Cherry was right. Currently still working in the service industry and all I can say is this is all true. Always receiving unwanted comments or advances by both customers, bosses and coworkers.

Chloe Cherry goes on to say that, “Porn is an art form in this world that people should respect,” she told the Daily Beast in 2022. “I was always comfortable in my sexuality, loved feeling my sexual power, and loved turning people on.” Cherry, who is now 25, first moved to Miami at 18 years old to pursue porn full-time. She had dreamed of being a showgirl throughout her childhood. Cherry said she had an overwhelmingly positive experience while working in porn. “It’s a great place, and if you are tested, of age, and you’ve seen porn before, I think it’s a cool, fun job to do,” she told Ratajkowski. “I really, really, really don’t understand what is wrong with sex work. To me, it seems like people hate women.” There were also industry differences that Cherry pointed out. The Euphoria star revealed that what she earned in a year doing adult films, she made in a day in Hollywood. “This year has blown my brain off — the amount that things pay,” she said. “Because there’s not as much money in porn?” Ratajkowski asked. “Yeah, you’re telling me,” Cherry replied. “Holy shit.”

This is a very similar sentiment to what Lana Rhoades has said. She would make $1,000 to be on set all day long, but now as a mainstream influencer, she'll get $30,000 for 5 minutes of work. It's like night and day. They pay girls so much more money in mainstream.

But Cherry said she felt her time in porn was far better than in other industries — namely, her experience as a cocktail server. “Your whole goal in [porn] is just making someone cum,” she explained. “It’s not like my whole goal is to serve 500 people in one night.” Cherry recalled the experience of being a server as “so fucking traumatizing,” pointing out that she often felt unsafe in the restaurant industry. “My boss was so fucking creepy,” she said. “He was like an actual sexual predator. Like, nobody in porn is a registered sex offender.” “In porn, it was like, this is what we’re going to do today,” she continued. “There wasn’t like, then this random guy comes up to you and tries to touch you. … I felt so much more respected in porn than in a restaurant.”

Sophia Locke, one of the industry’s favorite adult film stars who is back onscreen after a five-year hiatus, was a featured guest on a recent episode of the Krazy Train with Jasmin St. Claire Podcast. Last November, we talked about how Mindgeek won a major lawsuit against a company that was stealing its content. In a case heard at a federal court in the Western District of Washington, MindGeek won a default judgment against Vasily Kharchenko, the suspected operator of Daftsex.com, Artporn.com, Biqle.com, and Daxab.com. These sites have been a thorn in MindGeek’s side for years, and MindGeek accused their operator of mass copyright infringement. DaftSex alone was good for millions of monthly visits. All viewing stolen content. The adult media company won by default after the defense failed to appear. Kharchenko was ordered to pay more than $32 million in damages, and an injunction required domain name registry Verisign to sign over the valuable domain names to Mindgeek.

People don't realize just how serious stealing someone's content is. They get that if someone was to steal their car or their iPhone they would be mad. But when they steal the content someone else owns they act like it's not the same. Theft is theft. If you take something that you don't own, it's theft. How is this confusing?

Mindgeek won its case against this company, which included the company having to turn over the domains. The owner of DaftSex.com was like ok fuck you, and regged Daft.Sex and took to Twitter to announce they have set up shop under the new domain. Now Mindgeek is back in court, not only to ask for the new domains to be turned over but to also get control of their Twitter account.

“The Court must, unfortunately, look at Defendant Kharchekno as an irresponsible teenager who simply cannot follow simple rules nor show any respect to others, including the rule of law,” MG Premium writes. “To force obedience with the Court’s Order, the Court should take away the utilized domains and the Twitter account promoting those domains. There is simply no other way to get this behavior to cease.”

The court has yet to rule on this motion, but if MindGeek successfully takes over the new domain names, any new hijacking attempts will lack the element of surprise. Even then, Mindgeek may have to return to court if DaftSex switches domains again.
