Naked Man Leads Cops To Home Pot Farm
(CBS/AP) HIGHLAND MILLS, N.Y. An incoherent man who was walking nude in a secluded upstate neighborhood led police to a family-run marijuana-growing operation earlier this week.
Police in the Orange County town of Woodbury received a report Monday afternoon of a naked man spotted in the hamlet of Highland Mills, near West Point. When they arrived, they found 35-year-old Robert Ferranti rolling on the ground and babbling incoherently.
He allegedly fought with the cops before being subdued and taken to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.
Authorities said their investigation led them back to the street where Ferranti was arrested. Armed with a search warrant, officers say they found a sophisticated pot-growing operation in a home Ferranti rented with Michael Cody.
Police seized five pounds of pot and $10,000 in cash.
Cody and his two adult children have been charged with criminal possession of marijuana.
