Seven Rugby teens face assortment of charges
RUGBY, N.D. (AP) — Police here have charged seven teenagers with multiple crimes, including vandalism, manufacturing explosive devices and conspiracy.
The Rugby Police Department, Pierce County Sheriff’s Department and state Bureau of Criminal Investigation said they found items linking the teenagers to recent vandalism scenes after executing a search warrant at a local residence.
Authorities said they caught the teenagers making a large explosive device, and the teens admitted they were planning to blow up something.
The teenagers, ages 14 to 16, also are being charged with possession of tobacco products, hindering law enforcement, making false statements, fleeing law enforcement, disorderly conduct, curfew violations and arson.
Police said charges of vandalism and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile are pending against an adult.
