A 15-year-old girl testified Monday that a Plainfield,NJ Township police officer once told her after they had sex in his pickup truck that he feared she would talk about their trysts.

”He said I have a lot of shit on him,” the teenager testified at a preliminary hearing for officer Christopher S. Young, 28, who was arrested on April 18 on charges of statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and three other felonies, plus related offenses.

”He told me he was scared of me and I made him nervous,” she testified at a 90-minute hearing before District Judge Michael J. Koury Jr. of Wilson, who bound over all charges against Young to Northampton County Court. Young was suspended and placed on paid leave after his arrest.

Gary Asteak, the Easton lawyer representing Young, asked the teen what she told Young, who has been a township police officer about five years.

”I told him not to worry,” the girl said.

She said the officer, who she said was ”intoxicated,” made the remarks while driving her back to her house after having sex about 4:30 a.m. while the pickup truck was in a wooded area. She said Young had called her on her cell phone between 4 and 4:30 a.m. and asked if she wanted ”to go out.” Young picked her up at the bottom of her driveway, she said.

”That was the last time I had sex with him,” the teen testified.

But on cross-examination by Asteak, she said she was having difficulty remembering when some of the alleged sex acts happened, especially the date of the last sexual encounter.

”I’m sorry I’m getting confused right now,” she told Asteak, when he pressed her on her timeline. ”I think I’m getting my dates mixed up.”

Asked if she had her diary, the teen said she gave it to the state police and said it does not include dates.

”I didn’t write dates in the diary,” she said, adding, ”it’s in order the way we had sex.”

The state police investigation of Young started after the girl’s mother noticed entries in her daughter’s diary about sexual encounters with Young.

First Deputy District Attorney Terence Houck led the teen through a chronology of the alleged encounters that spanned from May 2005 to July.

She said she turned down Young’s advances while in his pickup truck on a dirt road behind the Blue Valley Lanes bowling alley, she said.

She said Young then offered to pay her $300.

”I said no,” she said.

Some of the questioning veered into graphic details and into other areas Houck argued were irrelevant.

At one point Asteak asked the teen if she knew her mother was seeing Young.

”No,” the teen said, wrinkling her nose.
