Deen’s Massive Crossover Appeal Celebrated by Top X-Rated Industry Critics!
Adult superstar James Deen is honored with the X-Rated Critics Organization’s 2013 Mainstream Adult Media Favorite award. The XRCO, an organization founded in 1984, holds the only awards show in adult entertainment that is not open to the general public, and is an award given by professional critics and editors of the adult industry. Voters include writers from a wide range of adult publications and Internet sites.
Deen adds these awards to his ever-growing collection of accolades, including Male Performer of the Year honors from AVN, XBIZ, XCritic, RogReviews.com, TheFannys, and Orgazmik, as well as Crossover Star of the Year award at the recent 2013 AVN Awards.
“I’m incredibly honored to receive this award from the XRCO,” said Deen. “To have an organization of critics and reviewers take note of my accomplishments in adult entertainment and beyond is meaningful.”
The XRCO is made up of professional writers and reviewers in the adult industry. The organization holds an informal invitation-only ceremony annually to honor the critics’ choices of the best in the adult industry in the previous year. Deen was previously named XRCO’s Male Performer of the Year in 2009.
Deen’s Mainstream Adult Media Favorite award can be attributed to his starring role in the upcoming feature film from Bret Easton Ellis and Paul Schrader, “The Canyons,” where he acts opposite Lindsay Lohan, and the interest in his working with the troubled mainstream star that followed. Deen also received an impressive amount of mainstream attention on his own in 2012, with features in outlets including GQ, Hollywood Reporter, US Magazine, New York Times, CNN.com, and CNBC.com.
Deen’s newest mainstream project is as producer on “Cowboys & Engines,” a short steampunk western film. The project is currently in production and raising funds through KickStarter.com: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1865079920/cowboys-and-engines-a-steampunk-western.
About James Deen: As soon as James Deen turned 18, he knew he was destined to have sex with girls on camera. In his early years in the porn industry, peers warned him his skinny body type and boyish looks were not fit for porn, but within a few years Deen excelled to become the top performer in the industry. He is the youngest male to ever earn Male Performer of the Year honors at the AVN, XBIZ, and XRCO awards shows. Deen’s honest passion for all kinds of sex, both on and off camera, is displayed in the array of movies to his credit (over 3000). Whether filming hardcore BDSM or straight gonzo and feature adult films, James is always the most captivating male on screen. In addition to his XXX achievements, he was noted as one of the top 100 Jews in Heeb magazine in 2009, and has been featured on CNBC’s special “Porn: Business of Pleasure,” ABC’s “Nightline,” Good Magazine, The Goodmen Project, GQ Magazine, Rolling Stone, E! Entertainment, TMZ, and many other mainstream media outlets. Though his career has only begun, James Deen appreciates every ounce of the successes he has, exclaiming, “Seriously – I am the luckiest boy alive.” For more information, visit www.JamesDeenBlog.com or www.Twitter.com/JamesDeen.
