Why Porn Stars Need to Run Their Own Social Media

There seems to be trend of porn stars not running their own social media accounts (Twitter, IG, Facebook, etc.) and giving social media specialists, publicists, assistants, managers, and other random people the power to run it for them. Your brand and image are the most important things you haveyou need to control how you are portrayed.

Here are some reasons why you need to run your own accounts:

  • The person running your account(s) might not have your best interest as their motivator. They may have some sort of other agenda, like making money off you or they might use your social media to promote another person and/or product.
  • They could be Tweeting negative things or fighting with other people on Twitter or doing other things to ruin your reputation.
  • Your fans need to know they’re really interacting with you–if they think it’s someone else, you could lose fans and ruin their perception of you. And, if you’re not interacting with your fans, you need to start.

You can put most social media apps on your phone and take a few minutes here and there each day to run your accounts. You can also use different scheduling apps to maximize your time and still get the word about your upcoming and current projects. We are social media experts–we won’t run your accounts for you. Repeat…we do NOT run social media for performers. We can show you how to use them more effectively and we will also  be watching your social media to make sure you’re always putting out the right image. It’s just some of the services we offer all of our clients. If you’re looking to up your game and take us on for PR, email us at info@therubpr.com.

Eve Laurence Sings with The Rub PR

Although Eve Laurence is a household name in adult, she’s laid low for the past few years. But, recently her name was center stage during the AVN and XBIZ Awards for her performance in Axel Braun’s “Star Wars XXX: A Porn Parody” as a scantily clad, sexy storm trooper. Her scene in the movie stole Best Scene – Parody Release at the XBIZ Awards and the movie won Best Parody – Comedy at the AVN Awards. All the attention she’s recently garnered and her trip to the AVN Awards made her realize how much she’s missed the industry, and she’s decided to start performing again. To get her name out there and reinvent herself, Eve has hired The Rub PR.

Eve Laurence

“I feel like I’m starting over and it’s all very exciting—I can’t wait to start working,” says Eve Laurence. “People know my name and I have a good following, but after being out of the game for a few years, I feel like I need to reinvent myself to hold on to my true fans and make some new ones. That’s why I hired Erika Icon and her team—they’re great with new and established stars, and right now, I’m a little of both.”

Eve is available for features, but is also looking to create some new scenes for companies she’s worked with in the past and also to work with newer companies. Currently, she’s not signed with an agency and is self booking. Directors and studios can book her directly by emailing her at admin@evelaurence.com.

Look for multiple interviews she’s done for Rock Confidential, Legends in Rock and Peeperz Radio to be popping up soon.

Eve can also be seen on weekly shows for Flirt4Free by going to CamWithEve.com.

ABOUT EVE LAURENCE:  Drop dead sexy, busty and curvaceous East Coaster Eve Laurence began her career in adult as a nude model at the tender age of 18, and then joined the world of adult movies. Since 2004, she has appeared in over 200 scenes for top studios, including Vivid, Wicked Pictures, Reality Kings, Digital Playground, Zero Tolerance, Naughty America, Hustler, Elegant Angel, Mile High Extreme, Digital Sin, Juicy Entertainment Third Degree and many more. Leia Down Signs with The Rub PR

Ultimate super villain, busty Cosplay girl, expert video gamer and webcam wonder Leia Down (AKA MaskDDesire) has signed with The Rub PR to further her brand and get more adult and mainstream attention for her site, http://www.MaskedDDesire.com, and help her launch her comic book and themed toy line.

“I’ve been a super villain for some time and had my site since 2010, but I decided that 2013 was the year that I was going make a huge impact in the adult and mainstream worlds,” says Leia Down. “Erika Icon and her team are known for working with girls and getting their names blown up in a big way. I’m looking forward to seeing what they do for me.”

On Monday, March 4th, Leia’s fans and the adult industry will be able to see her hosting Rebecca Love’s Karaoke XXX at The Red Label in Las Vegas. Look for the pink hair and black mask and get ready to be dazzled.

ABOUT LEIA DOWN:  Like most busty super villains, Leia Down had interesting beginnings—she’s of Cuban descent and was born in Puerto Rico. Her family moved to Dallas to be part of the Wild West, but moved to Sin City after they realized Texas wasn’t full of cowboys, ranches and old towns. In Vegas, she took up flying, got a pilot’s license and later started her own aircraft detailing company. While flying over the Mojave Desert, she saw a strange light emanating from the ground, lost control of the plane and crashed. She disappeared for four years only to emerge a powerful woman with new special gifts, including incredible strength, martial arts prowess and the power of manipulation, allowing her to morph into anyone she pleases and teleport herself.

In 2010, she started webcamming and making her fans’ (AKA Cum Buddies) fantasies a reality by morphing into one of 200 hot super heroines and sexy comic book characters, like Black Cat, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Wonder Woman and Baby Doll from Sucker Punch on her official site, http://www.MaskedDDesire.com. When she’s not being the ultimate super villain, she’s a video game champ and a respected member of the Cosplay community appearing at conventions around the country. Try and keep up with her adventures on Twitter @LeiaDown and like her fan page on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/pages/Leia-Down/191576967562911.

Gene Ross of AdultFYI Attacks Erika Icon

Gene Ross seems to have an issue with Erika Icon of The Rub PR.  He posted a story today making fun of a competitors blog called The Porn Life.  He mentioned that some stories that were going to be run on this blog were pulled because a “a female publicist told him not to run them. She is pretty much pulling all the strings there and blackballing people she doesn’t like”

I went to the site and found there is only one publicist listed and it is in fact a female, Erika Icon of The Rub PR.

Why so much hate for Erika Icon?  Is it possibly because she is a direct competitor of Rising Star PR who has been running full page ads on AdultFYI.com for years now?  Clearly Gene Ross’ loyalty lies with them and Alia Janine seems to be repped by Rising Star PR.  Maybe it is Rising Star PR who is having Gene Ross publish this trash piece on Erika Icon.  Maybe it’s not Erika Icon pulling the strings after all but just the opposite.  I mean if you look, Adult FYI does seem to post every single press release that Rising Star PR puts out.

Alia Janine twitters: “I wish that Toyota dealer (aka wannabe adult news site owner) would realize we’re STOPPING the hate. Right in its fucking tracks.”

Another tweet from her: “How can someone call themselves “porn life” when their full time job is at a Toyota dealership? LMFAO!!!!!!”

The Grand Vizier writes to explain: pornlifemagazine.com is owned by this guy named Chris. Apparently he works at some car dealership here in LA. They were going to run interviews on certain people in the business, but a female publicist told him not to run them. She is pretty much pulling all the strings there and blackballing people she doesn’t like.”
