In recent years, only a select few adult movie stars have crossed over into mainstream culture. Jenna Jameson was one of the first to do so but never managed to shake off her background (starring in such masterpieces as Where The Boys Aren’t 14 didn’t help matters). A Ron Jeremy cameo merely served as a handy kitemark for films you should avoid. Sasha Grey was a notable exception with her understated role in Steven Soderbergh’s The Girlfriend Experience. Now Digital Playground contract girl Riley Steele might be following in her footsteps…

Similarly unapologetic about her day job, Steele is one of the hottest names in the business. But in August this year she appears in respected French director Alexandre Aja’s big budget blockbuster Piranha 3D. Obviously intended as a schlocky tongue in cheek horror flick, it has lured an impressive cast, including Gossip Girl’s Jessica Szohrell, Christopher Lloyd (on full crazy) and even Jaws star Richard Dreyfuss (insert your smaller boat gag here), Steele has been cast because she can really act. There are many beautiful blondes in Hollywood but few have the charisma, charm and talent of Steele, and it is telling that she will be sporting a bikini alongside GQ favourite Kelly Brook.

Sasha Grey Lands New Mainstream Role

According to a story posted on Star Pulse Sasha Grey has done it again.  No, not that!  What I mean is, she’s landed another mainstream roll in a horror film.

Top porn star Sasha Grey has landed an odd new movie role as a Bible-wielding teen who takes a purity pledge and refuses to have sex before marriage.

The adult film star, who has appeared in over 180 porn movies in the past four years, has signed up to star in new horror film “Hallows” as an unlikely virgin.

Writer/director Richard O’Sullivan says, “We toyed with offering Sasha another sexier role in the film, but she fell in love with the idea of playing against type, portraying the exact opposite of what the public perceives her to be.”

It’s not Grey’s first non-porn movie – the 22 year old star won rave reviews last year for her lead performance in Steven Soderbergh’s “The Girlfriend Experience.”

Ironically, top Christian film star Christina Cupo will also play against type – as a heavily pierced and tattooed goth girl with a fondness for sado-masochism in the movie.

Tonight Sasha Grey sent out a tweet to her 34,000 some odd followers that said …. “OH! If you haven’t checked out my set for @playboy grab it now while it’s still on stands!”  … as if it was no big deal, like you get picked to be in Playboy every day.

To be honest I’m quite surprised people didn’t make more of a deal out of this.  A porn star getting picked to be in Playboy really doesn’t happen as often as you might think.  Well it turns out Sasha Grey is in fact in a special feature in this months issue of Playboy.  You can click HERE to read more about it directly from Playboy itself – but basically it is a special promotion for a movie she has done.  The movie is called Lolita  and apparently Sasha Grey plays Dolores Haze.

Taormino Says New Film is “One of the Best I’ve Ever Made”. “Tristan Taormino’s Rough Sex” starring Sasha Grey is the launch movie in an unprecedented new series from Vivid Entertainment. It will be ship on Wednesday, July 15th and be available in stores on July 22nd.

The movie is directed by award winning author and filmmaker Tristan Taormino and the scenes are based entirely on the real fantasies of female performers. Through deeply personal interviews viewers will discover their definitions of rough sex, why they love it, how they establish trust with their partners and what they need to feel safe to play on the edge.
