New Sensations Racks up the XRCO Noms

New Sensations and Digital Sin received a combined 7 XRCO Award nominations for the 2013 event. The studios’ acclaimed lines The Romance Series and The Couples Series are strongly represented in this year’s nomination list. The Romance Series’, The Friend Zone is up for Best Release and Best Actor, while The Couples Series’, Torn (winner of the 2013 XBIZ and AVN Award for Best Romance/Couples Release) is up for Best Feature, Best Actor, Best Actress.

New Sensations’ Director, Eddie Powell, who received the 2013 XBIZ Director of the Year award this past January, was also nominated by XRCO for Best Director in the Features’ category. Every feature film he directed in 2012 for the studio (Torn, The Friend Zone, Love Marriage and Other Bad Ideas) received critical acclaim throughout the industry and were honored with several awards and nominations, as well.

Founded in 1984, the X–Rated Critics Organization gives writers and editors from the adult entertainment industry a voice in selecting the year’s best in X-rated movies. The purpose was, and still is, to award works of excellence, recognizing specifically the unique qualities of sexually explicit films.

“I’d like to thank XRCO for our 2013 award nominations,” says New Sensations President Scott Taylor. “As a collection of the industry’s best reviewers, it is a true honor to have our titles selected out of the thousands of movies produced and watched this year.”

New Sensations has begun per-production on a parody version of the popular mainstream trilogy, “The Hunger Games.”

The company whose parodies have earned them numerous awards, including the 2011 XBIZ ‘Porn Parody Studio of the Year,’ have decided to tackle a parody version of the film, ‘The Hunger Games,’ which will likely prove to be one of their most challenging ventures to date. The original series, created by Suzanne Collins has become an international sensation, with its first film taking home a record $155 million opening weekend (the third largest in Hollywood history).

“The huge fan following and overwhelming amount of media attention ‘The Hunger Games’ is getting, sets the bar incredibly high for us. On-Set: ”Seinfeld’: A XXX Parody #2

Seinfeld may have ended its television run 12 years ago, but it remains a pop culture phenomenon due to the recent cast reunion on Curb Your Enthusiasm and last year’s porn parody from director Lee Roy Myers. Its sequel, Seinfeld: A XXX Parody #2, pays homage to the Seinfeld episode “The Contest” and was filmed last week at a soundstage in the San Fernando Valley. Coincidentally, the last day of filming took place on the day that Seinfeld actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus received her typo-laden star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Director Lee Roy Myers Leaves New Sensations

In a very puzzling move, a man who has directed quite a few good movies for the studio New Sensations today announced he quit his job and is going to start his own line of high end lesbian films and has only secured minimal distribution through Adult Source Media. That means during the worst economic down turn in recent history, at a time when an estimated 1.2 million are without jobs, a man leaves a guaranteed paying job to venture out on his own and secures his future by signing with a small time distributor that can’t guarantee he’ll sell 100 movies, let alone the thousand per title he’ll need to, in order to be successful. What the fuck are people thinking?

My name is Lee Roy Myers. I am proud to say that over the past two years I have worked as a Producer, Director, and Writer for New Sensations. But, I have decided to start a new chapter in my career, and move on from the studio.

With new projects in the works, and new directions that I would like to take my productions, I will continue to create high-quality, top-selling Adult movies, much like the parodies and romance features that I have built my reputation on. I promise you, the best is yet to come.

I am extremely proud to have had the opportunity to work for New Sensations. They have been supportive throughout my time with them, and continue to be supportive as I look ahead to the future. They believe in a high quality product, and pushed me to do the very best that I could. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Scott Taylor, who has been a friend & mentor to me, and the whole New Sensations team for their support and loyalty which they have shown time and time again.
