What is pooled blood testing?

We’ve been hearing about this method of testing for HIV called pooled rapid HIV evaluations.

But what does it really mean in terms of accuracy?

Since testing of pooled samples can decrease costs. This we know. Okay, but what about safety?

“Based on these results, pooled testing methods were evaluated for screening patients admitted to hospital in San Diego, California. Evaluation of pooled antibody testing on samples collected from individuals with known HIV infection found only a modest reduction in sensitivity.”

Only a modest reduction in sensitivity? Really? I mean a modest reduction in sensitivity sounds kinda like a big deal to me. How about you? But even worse it turns out those that are likely to not show up are the people who are the most infectious.

“These false negative results were only found among samples with very low optical density readings, and therefore likely correspond to samples collected during acute infection.”

In other words, they gave these guys a bunch of blood to test with people they knew for a fact was HIV positive and the tests didn’t detect it. Their excuse was, because they were probably acute HIV which we learned from Cameron Bay meant that was the time they were the most infectious! So with pooled testing a person who is the most infection, is probably the most likely to test negative under the pooled testing system!!!!!

That’s kind of a big deal, don’t you think?

If a person has HIV and is extremely likely to pass it on as they are at the most infectious stage of their infection and pooling blood doesn’t really work well on those kinds.

“Further evaluation of pooled testing of samples collected from individuals during recent infection, found that mini-pool testing of five samples detected HIV antibody in 86% of samples taken within 60 days of the initial infection and 92% of samples taken within 90 days of the initial infection.”

So in other words, they gave them more samples of people who they knew for a fact had HIV and where in the acute stage – again the most infectious time, and the pooled blood test only came back with a positive 86% of the time of samples taken within 60 days of the initial infection and 92% of samples taken within 90 days of initial infection.

This pooled blood testing works fine and is most cost effective method of testing, as long as the person hasn’t caught HIV in the last 90 days. If so we are all fucked.

So in other words, Cameron Bay could have been positive prior to June or earlier. Have all of those people been notified?

Has Xander Corvus been testing using another type of test to prove he for sure doesn’t have HIV? Has he gone anywhere besides cutting edge testing?

 

Is Alex Gonz HIV Positive too?

Donny Long, one of the most hated people in the entire porn industry, is now claiming that Alex Gonz emailed him and claims that he not only has Hep C but also is now HIV positive and he got it from Cameron Bay. Is this true? That’s hard to say … Donny Long isn’t exactly known for being honest. In fact more often than not he just makes shit up for attention so it’s hard to say if this is true or not. Plus he claims to have gotten it from Cameron Bay and I don’t think there is nay evidence that Alex Gonz performed with Cameron Bay in the last month when she was thought to have contracted HIV. The doctors have confirmed she has “acute HIV” which means she contracted it just recently. So I’m not sure if what Donny Long is saying is true BUT there is the possibility of it and if so, that could mean some serious problems for our industry.

It is for that reason alone I post this information. Do however keep in mind that it comes from Donny Long so it may very well be a big fat lie just like most everything else he says – spreading the information in an attempt to stay relevant because nobody else will give him attention.

Update: Looks like pretty much everything else Donny Long has ever said – this too is a lie. He was using the real HIV story to try and keep his name in the news. How really sad is that? Donny Long is a loser and this story just proves that. I mean to blatantly lie to get attention about some guy getting HIV is really just beyond pathetic.

Hopefully the next Donny Long story we have to report is is that someone stabbed him in the face because that truly what he deserves.

I was listening to the Rob Black show today and he made mention of something rather interesting. He was talking about condoms and the cost of them. He mentioned how one company could come in and offering them for free to in exchange for promotion.

That actually made a lot of sense to me. A company could come in and offer the entire industry – any producer who wanted it a free promotinal basket of their condoms in return for a mention on the DVD cover that the condoms were provided by them – maybe also throw in a free mini (4×6 in size) flyer inside the DVD which promotes where the condoms came from. It would be a really cheap but super effective form of advertising .

I did some research and there is a company out of China – hell about 100 of them from a site like Alibaba, where you can get custom branded condoms from almost nothing.
Think about how much money Brazzers spent on their PSA about wrapping it up – prior to the Mr. Marcus thing.  Now they can offer Brazzers condoms on the set of all of their movies and then offer the fans the chance to buy the very same condoms – the Brazzers branded condoms.

The crazy part is these condoms cost about $.03 a piece. That’s PENNIES per condom. PENNIES …. three cents a condom and they are custom branded with their company logo on it. These are the very same condoms you buy at the store like the Durex brand only you get to strip that brand name and put your own name on it. They are high quality, electronically tested, that are CCC and CE certified. You can select them as lubricated, plain, ribbed or dotted, whichever you like and hell even fruit flavored if that is your thing.

So if you can now profit by offering fans the very condoms their favorite porn stars are using to fuck with, while at the same time helping the performers stay safe and healthy, why wouldn’t you? I mean besides the fact that it’s the law.

We all learned long ago that super fans will buy practically anything from or about their favorite stars, so why not offer them porn branded condoms that their favorite girls used to get fucked in the ass with in her last movie? So why not make money from doing the right thing?

Did LA Direct Models break the law yet again?

According to an old old article on the Mike South website about Manwin being unable to buy up a talent agency because of a conflict of interest, I realized that Derek Hay and LA Direct Models has been doing that for a long time – I mean the conflict of interest part.

They have a direct interest in many of the girls personal websites and as such it would be a direct violation of California Labor Code section 1700.40.

 

(b) No talent agency may refer an artist to any person, firm, or corporation in which the talent agency has a direct or indirect

financial interest for other services to be rendered to the artist, including, but not limited to, photography, audition tapes, demonstration reels or similar materials, business management, personal management, coaching, dramatic school, casting or talent brochures, agency-client directories, or other printing.

(c) No talent agency may accept any referral fee or similar compensation from any person, association, or corporation providing services of any type expressly set forth in subdivision (b) to an artist under contract with the talent agency.

 

 

For years they’ve been violating US labor laws. Now this. Plus they’ve been double dipping, yet another violation (where they charge both the client and the talent booking fees. And that’s not even touching the whole escorting thing.

So why has nobody taken this jackass down yet?

HELLO? Plain and simple, he takes a percentage of money from the girls website. He has a DIRECT FINANCIAL INTEREST in them. How is this not a violation of the labor law?

Looks like Pandora has a new box that just opened and that box is my lawsuit against “Buttman” himself, John Stagliano. Adult FYI, AVN, XBIZ, Mike South, and even TMZ posted a story about a case that John Stagliano didn’t inform me that he was HIV, and yes it’s very true, I am suing the guy you call “The Man of the Porn Business.” Bloggers from porn and mainstream have broadcasted this lawsuit, and now I’m blogging about it just so I can set a few things clear, and answer the questions of “Why the fuck is Katie Summers doing this?” Wait till the other shocking news I have to say, so just keep reading.

I started porn in the summer of 2009 when I was 19 years old, a few weeks before my 20th birthday just so yall know 🙂 I got hooked up with Type 9 Models who I guess was a cool agency to be with back in the day, oh and I started in Miami, FL (not Porn Valley). A couple weeks in the business, my agent and I went to lunch with the owner of one of the biggest companies in adult entertainment. A few days later I was in “Stags” hotel room, where we shot the scene, all excited cause I never really played with my ass before, lol wanna know something funny, I always thought you automatically got HIV/AIDS if you have anal sex (with an actual penis) condom or no condom, damn I was naive back in the day. Let me say this again, I was brand new in the business when the scene was shot and it was in Florida not LA and it was my FIRST shoot with them so we can mark out what some people are trying to say “oh she knew cause she was already around and shot for them a bunch.” I feel it shouldn’t of been my responsibility to look up his status when I went to lunch with the guy, he had so many opportunities, so did my agent, to tell me. If I would of know about Stagliano, I wouldn’t of done the scene, honestly, I would of said no.

People like to point out past scenes I’ve done that say “well isn’t this just the same” laughing to myself, I have to sit here and educate you all like children, I have done scenes with crossover guys, all are tested, none of them have HIV and I also worked with crossover stars where condoms were involved and they we are all tested and test at the same facility. In the scene with John, there was no sexual intercourse but there is sexual content and there is rough footage that didn’t make the cut in the film, what you see, if you pay attention, he does touch my pussy when I have the clothespins on me, he spreads my ass apart, hands me toys and the clothespins, with his bare hands. Working in porn we are required to have a monthly test that is provided on all sets, if you don’t have one, you can’t shoot. Majority of people like to throw Rob Black in the mix of everything, which what ever fine say what you want but at least say something worth while. I’m not a puppet to anyone and I’m not living my life that way. Rob doesn’t sit there and say do this, do that, don’t do this, don’t do that, and he doesn’t say “I hate this person so you can’t work with any of his girls.” You guys seem to think he controls every little thing I do, truth is, he is the person that is straight up honest with me and he was the one that informed me about Stagliano. Rob doesn’t depend on me, I don’t play the game of giving him every thing I earn, we work together people in what ever form you want to take it. With this lawsuit, Rob didn’t demand that I do it, I wanted to do this, this was my choice, and my right. Rob has been there, advised me on things I should of known and helped me think more like a businesswoman than just some young woman trying to figure out what to do with my life. Take it any way you want, bash the facts, but what you build in your head is not what the real picture is.

This lawsuit isn’t about getting a pay day, this is about the safety and health of all the performers in this business. This is something that should be stopped, what John Stagliano does is not right, no matter how tamed or how wild the scenes are, he should not be participating in these movies and just leave them as anal solos. Us girls should be informed that he is HIV+ and that will give us the choice if we want to do the scene or not.

As I said before and as I say now, I was brand new to the business, Buttman’s Stretch Class was the first scene I have done for Evil Angel, John Stagliano had more than one chance to say he was positive, and the scene was shot in Florida.

Rob Black broke this story but it’s important so I want to share it with you guys.

John Stagliano owner of Evil Angel, his wife and now AVN has claimed that during the production of his Stretch Class series he did not have sexual contact with the female performers so there was no need to reveal his HIV positive status.

While other pictures have already surfaced that he has in fact had contact of a sexual nature with him in other movies … here is further proof, as plain as day that he is having what appears to be unprotected sexual contact with a female performer.

Got a letter today from a concerned citizen. I thought I would share it with you because some of this needs to be said.

For a long time now people like Mike South and others have been bitching loudly about the porn industry testing standards. Case in point … HPV. We can test for it, but we don’t. “It’s not a big deal” says one industry big shot.

Well I wonder what Michael Douglas has to say about that … he now suffers from throat cancer, which has now been directly related to HPV he contracted through oral sex.

HPV is no big deal huh?

If we really want to protect the talent then why the fuck aren’t we actually doing it with the most basic of services like mandatory HPV testing?

Stop with all the bullshit full body suit ads. That’s so fucking stupid. It makes me want to punch that bitch in the nose who came up with that stupid shit.

Let’s instead talk about real solutions.

Spend time and money on things that fucking count.

Testing your fucking talent for shit that can actually kill them.

Cancer is serious shit.

But in the end you really only care about one thing and that is the bottom fucking line and the bottom fucking line is, it is far to cost prohibitive to test for things like HPV.

 So please shut the fuck up with your full body shit ads already and stop pretending like you fucking care about anything but your big fat 6 figure a year paycheck to stupid cunt.

And by really matters I don’t mean try and spend your time covering up where all the fucking money went for the talent pool that got donated that magically disappeared.

Memorial Day Memories and Problems

There are days like today that I am reminded how stupid some people really are. They were interviewing a lady on the news who said she loved the city she lives in but the one thing she doesn’t like is how many new restaurants the city is building when there are all these homeless people around.  Instead of creating all of those new jobs with those new businesses she thinks it was a better idea to just give all that money to the poor people like her so they could pay it forward more easily.

I seriously sometimes just smack my head to my forehead on that one.

But it brings up a good point … and that point is, sometimes people really get caught up focusing on the wrong thing. This person like many others feel entitled and that rich people should just give them money because clearly they have it, I mean if those people can afford to build a new restaurant, why not just give it to her instead? The lady and others like her don’t get that this simple new business will create countless new jobs but beyond those people who will be hired as waitresses, cooks, cleaners, security, etc., they will also be doing business with other people like the guy who supplies them with the meats and fish. Then there is the guy who they buy that laundry service from to wash all of their linens each day.

This of course helps all of those companies as well, who also have their own employees and it’s a never ending cycle that helps to improve the economy as a whole.

So back to my point, which as you might have guessed has nothing to do with that dumb ass lady on the news, but about porn itself.  Sometimes we all get so caught up in our own ideas, hates, annoyances, that we don’t stand back and really see the big picture or as my grandmother likes to say, we can’t see the forest for the trees.

No things in our industry aren’t perfect right now.

I don’t know if the rumor is true that Steve Hirsch from Vivid really tried to hire Mr. Marcus _AFTER_ he faked his syphilis test, but if that rumor is true, well that’s just fucked up.

I don’t know if the rumor is true that one studio owner who is HIV positive is really have sexual contact with female performers on the set (even if it is just finger fucking her) without those young girls knowing he is HIV positive,well if that rumor is true, that’s just really fucked up too.

But in the end, despite these kind of problems, we are all so caught up in hating on each other we are forgetting to see the big picture – and that is, if we don’t shut the fuck up sometimes and at least try and work together for the big issues, then we are going to have more problems than we have right now.

So on this Memorial day I ask that you first and foremost honor those who deserve it most, our troops. Then sit back and really think about the big picture. Don’t think about how much you hate this person or that person … just think for a moment about something you can do to help our industry and who you might be able to do it with, even if it is a person you don’t like.

I think Fabian from Manwin is a jackass. I have made my feelings about him to him very clear on more than one occasion, but if he came to me tomorrow and told me he would give me the money to help someone in our industry – some sort of performer friendly project, I would consider working with him.  I may not like him, but sometimes you have to put your feelings aside and look at the big picture. I probably wouldn’t trust him enough to actually do anything with him for real, but I would be mature enough to at least consider it. And that’s what I am asking each of you to do as well on this day.

Let’s put our hate aside for this one day and think about others for once. Think about what we can do to really solve some of our industry problems.

 

Oops! Army General busted with porn!

US Army general facing sexual misconduct charges had pornography on laptop, despite ban

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — An expert in Afghan culture has testified that pornography found on the computer of a U.S. Army general then deployed to the Muslim country would be highly offensive to local residents.

Former Defense Intelligence Agency adviser Morwari Zafar testified Wednesday at a pre-trial hearing for Brig. Gen. Jeffery Sinclair. A court-martial for the former deputy commander of the 82nd Airborne is set to begin June 25 on charges that include forcible sodomy, indecent acts, violating orders and adultery.

Among the orders Sinclair is accused of violating is a prohibition against possessing pornography for U.S. troops in Afghanistan.

Lawyers for Sinclair want the charge dropped, arguing the porn ban violates First Amendment protections of free speech. The defense has not provided an explanation for how pornography got on Sinclair’s personal computer.
