Playboy and Club Jenna to cease producing DVDs

News recently broke that Playboy will be phasing out DVD productions, both XBIZ and AVN ran stories about the Playboy changes including their plans to layoff about 80 employees.  So al of this got me curious how such a thing would effect other Playboy holdings such as Jenna Jameson’s Club Jenna, who obviously is big into DVD sales. And if Playboy does plan on cutting ALL DVD production, including that at their owned asset Club Jenna, what will they do with all those contract girls.  Will they be in the business of making only Internet porn?


I had once heard a rumor that Playboy wasn’t happy with their purchasing of Club Jenna because they weren’t quite a profitable as they thought they would be, so maybe screwing them wouldn’t really matter so much to them.



“Our goal is to return the company to solid profitability in 2009,” CEO Christie Hefner wrote in a letter to employees. “When we reported earnings two months ago, we indicated that we expected to reduce expenses by $10 million, with approximately half coming from corporate and other overhead and the other half from the publishing and television businesses. Today we are announcing the specific actions being taken to achieve those goals.“


Hefner said that Playboy will continue to increase its focus on Internet content delivery and other digital media platforms while phasing out DVD production over a period of several months.


This news didn’t come as a big surprise to investors because earlier this year she was quoted as having said, “Traditional media are facing a secular shift as a result of changes in consumer behavior and the migration of advertisers to new platforms. This has created a challenging environment for our print and TV businesses, which has been compounded by the current macro-economic climate. However, we believe that the changing media business model also creates a number of opportunities for us, both because of our globally recognized brand and our profitable existing digital businesses.“


I made a call to the Playboy offices today to see if I could find out companies like Club Jenna. Club Jenna does have a popular website but it also makes a good portion of their money through DVD sales, so how would this decision effect their business operations?  I had a hard time finding anyone to actually speak with about it that knew the answer to my questions.  To be frank, it wasn’t that they didn’t want to speak with me because to be honest, I found everyone that I spoke with to be extremely friendly and upbeat and keep in mind I spoke with abotu 12 people over at the Playboy offices throughout the course of this investigation.  So when I finally got the right person he said that even he wasn’t sure and wanted to confirm before telling me something that may not be accurate.  He made a few phone calls on his own and the final verdict is that in fact Club Jenna, Spice TV, and Playboy itself will no longer be producing any more DVDs.


Our source over at Playboy said it’s not something that will happen over night but in time, Club Jenna will like all Playboy owned entities be ceasing their DVD productions.  DVDs are a thing of the passed.   The Playboy rep confirmed, It’s all about digital distribution now.


As far as the Club Jenna girls go, as of right no there are no plans to phase them out.  Club Jenna will continue production of movies only the distribution model will change.

Have you seen the new t-shirts that Jenna is hocking over at Hello Jenna?  They actually aren’t to bad for your lady friends.  So if you can’t figure out to give …. well come to think of it, you can’t exactly give your girlfriend or wife a Jenna Jameson t-shirt, that might be a tad uncomfortable, as I’m sure most women aren’t quite as open minded about you hanging out at websites run by a porn star, but you know they would make a great gift for your favorite stripper and with the holiday season quickly approaching what better time to think of such things.


I guess I should mention that the t-shirt being shown costs like $40 bucks.  I can’t ever recall spending $40 on a t-shirt but hey what the fuck, if you are really a big spender there is apparently a $50 version as well, which she describes as the SALE price.  SALE PRICE?!   I guess Jenna really likes her shit charging those insane prices.


Truth in advertising – who gives a fuck anymore

Some things are more obvious than others when it comes to lying. I mean by now we all heard that smiling Bob isn’t going to make your dick any harder or any bigger and he faces 20 years in the big house for lying about it. I mean he had a nice run with his male enhancement product but in the end it didn’t enhance shit and well, I think most of us knew it. But sometimes those lies we all read about or see on TV aren’t so obvious or so harmless.


I was watching TV a few months ago when I came across an ad for a product about cutting your dog’s nails. The commercial made the product sound like the answer to my every pet related need and as such I bought the item in question only to find when it finally arrived some 6 weeks later that it was total and complete shit.  It wasn’t that they lied, they just led me to believe something that wasn’t exactly true.  It was deceptive, perhaps – but it wasn’t a flat out lie.


Sort of like saying a man is a disabled vet.   When one says a man is a “disabled veteran” it leads one to believe that he was injured at war.  You know like defending our country or some shit like that.  I mean there is honor in that and that is why that phrase holds special meaning.  However when one finds out that this person was at one time a Marine or may or may not have ever so much as seen any real shit, or ever even left the country for that matter, let alone gotten a single injury while in the service, but in fact was TEMPORARILY disabled by a slip and fall type injury while at work and hasn’t exactly been in the military in years would be yet another example of deceptive practices.


Sure the guy technically is a vet, I mean at one time he was in the Marines but for all we know he could have been dishonorably discharged. And sure the guy was temporarily disabled by obtaining an injury while on the job but he’s not a DISABLED VETERAN in the sense that we have come to attach special and honorable meaning to that phrase.  So implying otherwise would again be unethical.  In fact, some might even say fraudulent.  It’s ironic that while accusing someone of fraud, one would commit fraud themselves.


I’m not pointing any fingers here or even talking about anyone specific, just giving examples of lies, deceptions and well … I’m really getting off topic here. I think you get the point with this one. So let us move on.


So now let’s say you are a porn star. You are in fact a pretty popular porn star. You pay some guy or some company to create you a new website. The first thing I noticed was how much her new website looked like another website, that of porn star Nikki Benz. You can visit the two sites and compare the two for yourselves. Both use identical color schemes, both use the same blue and white swirls. It’s amazing how similar the two sites are.  I don’t know about you but I would be pissed off if I paid some guy to create me a website and launch it only to find it looks almost exactly like another porn star’s website.  Since Nikki Benz has had her website around awhile now we know that hers was the original.

Now here is where the shit just gets down right funny, well maybe not as funny as fraudulent but still you get the point.  Shyla Stylez apparently signed a deal with a company called Adult Star Products to manager her website and get traffic through their affiliate program.  It’s not uncommon for a porn star to do something like this.  In theory it makes it easier to handle your website because they are already setup to manager multiple websites like your own so in theory that just makes things easier.   So this is what caught my eye.



Wait? WHAT?  Shyla Stylez is the #1 searched porn star online?  Oh really?  Where did they get this tid bit of information?  I mean who the fuck would have the balls to actually say that out loud let alone post it as official or true?  Without even looking I can tell you a few names that are searched for more than Shyla Stylez and that includes Jenna Jameson, Tera Patrick, Jenna Haze.  So then I actually put in a little effort and found that quite a few others also come up in search engines more than Shyla Stylez, such as Eva Angelina, Jesse Jane, Gianna Michaels and Amy Reid.

Even more insane is that the person who created her site put this little “fact” across every single page of her website. Let’s just forget the fact that it’s not even remotely true and put it up there anyway because it sounds good?  Is this the logic they were going with because it’s the best I can fucking figure out!



As I was laughing about this bullshit with a friend of mine, who has this horrible tendency to try and see the good in people, despite the obvious, pointed out that maybe these searches the Shyla Stylez people referred to was at a site like FreeOnes.  And you know come to think of it, I did seem to recall Shyla Stylez being pretty popular at FreeOnes so ya maybe that’s it.  But turns out that couldn’t be the case since well 5 isn’t 1 and that’s her spot when I checked.  So who the fuck knows what they were thinking.  Guess it’s just yet another example of stretching the truth.  It seems there is a lot of that going on lately.

On her Myspace page Jenna Jameson has decided to throw her support behind Presidential candidate Barak Obama. Besides posting a banner on her page and inviting her legions of fans to share it with their friends, she has also posted a bulletin which simply reads “History will be made this November“.   This is quite true, no matter who wins really.  Either we will have the first ever black President of the United States or the first ever female Vice President of the United States.  In the end we are living in historically notable times and Porn Star (who will not spread her legs for this industry again) Jenna Jameson wants you to note that she’s an Obama Girl.

Darrah Ford of Porn Star Babylon is reporting that Jenna Jameson may be pregnant, although admitidly it is through an unconfirmed source.

The NY Post is reporting this saying a source has told them. Jenna and Tito’s people had no comment. If she is pregnant and if having a baby can straighten out her life, then congratulations and I’m happy for her. But my experience with following celebrities for years is that they lie when they are about to promote something or if they just want some new publicity for the week.


Celebrities start dating for publicity, they get married, have babies, and adopt children from other countries for publicity. They even stage scandals and so-called feuds with rival celebrities for publicity. The thing to do now in Hollywood is get pregnant and sell the baby pictures for a starting price of a million dollars.


Jenna is no different. She’s been trying to go mainstream for years. And since leaving porn, it’s now gone into full motion with promoting herself to the general public. Neither she or Tito have confirmed anything. I’ll believe it when I see a belly showing. And she better stop the drinking and start eating if she really is pregnant.


    “She had a bunch of meetings and things planned for Fashion Week, including meetings for her own line, but she’s postponed everything. She’s completely thrilled, this is something she’s wanted for a very long time.”

I seem to recall a big ta do about Jenna Jameson pushing her pussy for Peta recently.  It was something about a pleather yourself ad (as seen below) but that’s really interesting but back when Jenna Jameson was a porn star, you know only a few years ago Jenna Jameson was in FUR!! OH YES FUR!


About her PETA ad Jenna Jameson had this to say … “I’ve worn a lot of pleather in my life. Anybody who knows me knows that I’ve kind of lived half my life in it. I love the idea of having choices outside of leather. The outfit that I’m wearing in the ad is so sexy that I suggest if people want to have a better time in the bedroom — then please explore the pleather side.”

Update: Apparently, Jenna saw a movie called Earthlings sometime in 2006, just after the photo of her in fur was taken and it changed her life. In addition to her new animal loving ways, she also claims to be a veterinarian and has spoken out again KFC’s cruelty to chickens. In regards to her Pleather Yourself campaign PETA says “Jenna is living proof that pleather certainly is sexy, but if you need more reasons to try this alternative to leather, then consider the animals. Most cows, pigs, and sheep who are slaughtered for their skin endure miserable lives in factory farms, where extreme crowding, deprivation, unanesthetized castration, branding, and dehorning are common. Saint Tera?

Big news coming out of the gaming world today as it seems Miss Tera Patrick has signed on to be a “special producer” for the XBOX 360 game Saints Row 2.  Tera Patrick’s role in the game clearly isn’t significant, as the game is nearing release and so how much can she really contribute in 30 days? But it is a great publicity stunt.  All the hype they will get for the game just by attaching her name to the game can only help sales.  They say that Tera Patrick’s role as “special producer”, will bring her one-of-a-kind special touch to the project. And by that they no doubt mean, lending them the use of her name and half naked body for cover art.


For those that don’t know, Saints Row 2 is a sandbox-style action-adventure video game developed by Volition Inc and published by THQ. It is the second title in the Saints Row series. Saints Row 2 is to be released in America on October 14, 2008, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 systems. A smaller variant of the game will also be published for mobile phones, and also to the PlayStation Portable system.

Saints Row 2 is set in a redesigned rendition of Stilwater, a fictional city based heavily on modern day Chicago. The game picks up from where Saints Row left off, with the player waking up from a trauma-induced coma in a prison hospital, five years after the events of Saints Row, only to escape the prison island and rejoin the 3rd Street Saints, the gang the series is set around. The protagonist soon learns that the Saints have fallen apart, and that three new gangs have risen to power in a massively expanded Stilwater, and must eliminate them to reclaim the city he once owned. The story follows ’much darker and more sinister story that leads your character down a path of betrayal, revenge and redemption against the city that has left him for dead’.


What I found even more surprising in the press release was not that Tera Patrick was whoring out her name on yet another thing but that she has her own clothing line.  When the fuck did Tera Patrick get her own clothing line? I knew Jenna Jameson had one with the House of Jameson, something she had started after modeling a few years back during fashion week, but now Tera Patrick too?  Tera Patrick’s new clothing like will be called Mistress Couture. I don’t know much else about it but if any news comes out regarding it, I will let you know.

Roxy Jezel says Bye Bye Club Jenna

Lately Club Jenna seems to be losing more girls than its gaining and well today is no different as XBIZ is reporting that Roxy Jezel and Club Jenna have parted ways.   What’s going on over there in Jenna Jameson land?   Perhaps things are not as merry as some have been reporting.  Roxy Jezel will now handle all of her bookings through LA Direct Models.  It’s interesting that Roxy Jezel would leave Club jenna or moreover that Club Jenna wouldn’t fight more to keep her as she is one of the few true success stories of the Club Jenna lineup of contract stars.  I mean sure some of the others are quickly rising in fame but Roxy Jezel seems to have a larger fan base than most of the others.

Roxy Jezel says “I loved the time I was under contract. I never wanted to have a contract when I got in the industry, then it reached a point where being under contract was ideal for me,” Jezel said. “I had a good time with Club Jenna. Everybody was nice to me and we put out some amazing movies. I plan to retire in two years, so it makes sense for me to get out of contract.” She told XBIZ that she’s looking forward to working with some costars again. “I want to work with James Deen,” Jezel said. “I haven’t worked with him since before I was contracted.

James Deen?  That name seems to be coming up a lot lately.  I seem to recall in an interview that one of the Love Twins named him as their favorite actor to work with as well.  Roxy Jezel didn’t really cite any reasons for the parting of ways but she did say that she has a limited availability for the next two years while she finishes her degree.  She also says  “I have a lot of homework, and I’m getting a civilian job that will go with my degree. I’m also doing volunteer work.” Whatever the real reasons may be, we with Roxy Jezel the best of luck and hope her star continues to shine.

I seen somewhere that Teagan Presley is celebrating her birthday today and it got me thinking about her.  I’ve been a fan of Teagan Presley’s for awhile now.  I mean how can you not love a girl who stars in a movie like Cum in My Ass, Not in My Mouth or Cum Swapping Sluts. It was as my mind was wondering that I started to think about her name and how now for some reason she only goes by Teagan.  That got me wondering as to why that is.


As the story goes, Teagan Presley needed a last name and decided she would use Presley in part as homage to Lisa Marie Presley.  She said in an interview once with Bizarre Magainze that it was she who came up with the name Teagan Presley.


Teagan Presley said : I was on set once with Joey Silvera of (porn company) Evil Angel. He’s one of my favourite directors. I love him to death. We were talking and he’s like, “Have you ever thought about using a last name?” I told him no, and he was like, “Well, you really remind me of Lisa Marie Presley. I think you should use that last name.” So from then on I just took it on as my own.


Notice that she came up with the user of the name while on set of an Evil Angel movie … not a Digital Playground one.  This is important later on in the story.  She was 19 at the time she did this interview, so this was about 2004.  Prior to giving herself this last name, she has been going only be the name Teagan.  You see this in her early work (2003, early 2004) such as her movie she did for Ninn Worx in 2003 called Halle Vanderhyden’s Innocence : Little Secrets.


One of the first movies she uses the full name Teagan Presley is on the movie Truly Nice Ass 7 : Scrumptious by a company called DVSX.  Soon after she would sign a conract to work with Digital Playground.  Now this is where it gets confusing.  Somehow during the signing of her contract with them apparently she gave away the rights to the use of her name “Teagan Presley” and when she wanted to leave them they reminded her of this little clause and wouldn’t let her use her name anymore.


HOWEVER do keep in mind that when Teagan Presley left Digital Playground they were the first to say through press releases at places like AVN and XBIZ that the split wason good terms and in an article on AVN Digital Playground is quoted as haven said …


“Neither Digital Playground nor its representatives have ever said Teagan could not use her name after she ceases to be an exclusive performer for DP,” Piccionelli said.

In an article I found on XBIZ it says that


“We’re not seeking any legal action against her in any form or anything else,” O’Neal said. “When we split with Teagan, it was amicable and still is. We really don’t know where this is coming from.”


So then why the fuck isn’t Teagan Presley allowed to use her full name?


I remember awhile ago there was a similar issue with Kira Kener and Vivid but that seems to have been resolved in favor of Kira Kener getting rights to her name so again why isn’t Teagan Presley able to use her full name anymore?


Did you know that Teagan Presley almost became a Club Jenna girl?  Yep!  It’s true.  Just before signing with Digital Playground she had something going on with Jenna Jameson.  Here is what Jenna Jameson thinks about Digital Playground.  It’s very insightful.  ^^

Also why doesn’t she have control of either of her listed official websites (ClubTeagan.com and TeaganRaw.com)?  She lost control of not one but both of them?!!  I noticed a “fan” site has control of TeaganPresley.com.  Why not just go to ICANN and dispute it to get control back?  I serously hope this new boyfriend of hers is a lawyer.


It’s all so confusing but here is what we do know.  Today is her birthday. So happy birthday Teagan Presley.
