Recently I was reading an article in Entertainment Weekly called, Bring On the Blood.
Hollywood still loves vampires — With the ”Twilight” and ”True Blood” craze going strong, look forward to future blood-sucking flicks like ”Buffy the Vampire Slayer”
It states that, “Never before has any mythical creature had such a widespread surge in popularity across all media.” I mean, don’t bet me wrong, I love Twilight. I even read all the books. Interview with a Vampire is one of my favorite movies. But when that movie was released the public didn’t go Vampire Crazy like now. Everywhere I turn now days I see vampires! HBO has “True Blood” and in September the CW is airing “The Vampire Diaries”. I can’t go to the grocery store with out seeing at least 5 different magazines with vampire related covers. People friggin stood in line at midnight just to see the “New Moon” trailer. Trailer, people, not the movie! Then I happen to see Meggan Mallone on twitter saying that she is starring in an upcoming video about, guess what, Vampires. God, not my porn, too!
Meggan Mallone Tweet:
—my new feature is coming up its a vamp movie 🙂 i vant to suck u blood! mwahahahaha
Meggan Mallone Blog:
—im also preparing for my first BIG FEATURE directed by paul thomas..it will be a vampire movie and im happy to say i got the lead!! woo woo!
So I got to thinking, is this new or are there more? And sure enough, I came across several that were released in the last couple of years since this Vampire craze began.
Adam & Eve Released “My Girlfriend Is a Vampire” in 2007. Starring Bree Olson.
Wicked Pictures released “The Wicked”in 2008, starring Stormy Daniels and Kaylani Lei.
Juicy Ent. released “Vampiress” in 2008. Starring Alexis Texas, Audrey Bitoni, Amber Rayne, and Gianna Lynn.
Spearmint Rhino came out with “Succubus of the Rouge” in 2008, starring Dyanna Lauren.
Rodney Moore Films released “Vampires”in late 2007, which stars Rebeca Linares.
And of course Swank’s “Cum Vampires” 1, 2, and 3!
As EW said in the article, “Hollywood will inevitably drain the life out of the genre — ” and so will the porn industry, but how long is it going to take and will I even still like vampires by then?
