Then we hear that adult model Katie King kills herself [source]

Next we hear shit is hitting the fan over at Elegant Angel with a nasty divorce in the works and the wife is wanting more than half … she wants the entire company!  [source]

Next we have Larry Flynt say fuck the AVN show.  According to the story he will not be exhibitng at the AEE show in Las Vegas this year, he will not be buying ads in AVN magazine or their website and he will not be going to the AVN show for the first time, ever.  [source]

The 2013 AVN Nomination are out!

The 2013 AVN Nomination are out! [source]

The collective breath the adult entertainment industry has been holding while it anticipates the announcement of the nominees for the AVN Awards can be exhaled. The highly sought-after list of nominees for the 2013 AVN Awards has arrived.

Download the complete list of nominees by clicking here.

A committee of 10 AVN critics spent close to a month and a half compiling nominations in over 130 categories recognizing companies, talent, technicians and creative professionals across the spectrum of the adult entertainment industry.

Several new categories were created to reflect the ever-evolving market trends of the business; these include Best Star Showcase (a movie centered around one female performer by both incorporating her name into its title and featuring her in all of its sex scenes), Best Romance Release (a title with a romance theme/storyline marketed specifically toward women or couples and/or released under a Romance or Couples-Themed line) and Best Transsexual Sex Scene.

Additionally, a number of formerly familiar categories have been reintroduced to the awards as the market has expanded accordingly. Back for 2013 are Best New Production Company and Best Continuing Series (which was previously known as Best All-Sex/Vignette Series.)

Finishing up the housekeeping, Best Feature has been renamed Best Drama in order to properly complement Best Comedy, and Best All-Sex Release – Mixed Format has been retitled Best Wall-to-Wall Release for those releases that mix scene genres between gonzo, vignette and all-sex.

“Everybody on our nominations committee has literally poured their blood, sweat and tears into producing this list over the past six or so weeks, and I can honestly say that in my almost decade at AVN, I don’t think we’ve ever done a more meticulous and thorough job,” AVN Senior Editor Peter Warren said. “I am very pleased with the nominees we’ve come up with, and wish them all a stupendous weekend basking in the glow of being recognized.”

AVN Managing Editor Steve Javors echoed his colleague’s comments.

“I’m really proud of the work the nominations committee did,” he said. “The 30th anniversary of the most important night in adult entertainment is something we all took seriously, and being an AVN award nominee is a big point of pride. Rightfully so. Our nominees should be congratulated and recognized for a job well done. On behalf of everyone at AVN, we appreciate all your contributions to the world of adult entertainment.”

The announcement of those individuals elected to the AVN Hall of Fame will be made in the coming days.

AVN Media Network recently announced the 2013 Award Show hosts—adult superstars Asa Akira and Jesse Jane, along with the show’s musical guest, hip-hop sensation Tyga.

WHY KAGNEY WHY??????????????????????????

Kagney Linn Karter

Kagney Linn Karter has always been one of the most beautiful girls in porn.  I thought that about her since the very first time I laid my eyes on her.  I can remember the first time I met her in person.  She was every bit as beautiful up close as she was on the pages of the magazines I’ve seen her in.

Whenever pictures come out about industry events, I always find myself looking to see what Kagney Linn Karter looks like that night.  I wasn’t however prepared for what I seen last night.

I am confused why pretty girls like this go out of their way to mutilate their looks in one way or another.  Belladonna recently pulled a Britney Spears and shaved her head completely.

Is it that they are so unhappy with their lot in life that they have to go out of their way to try and make themselves look so bad they secretly hope nobody would hire them?  I remember Janine once talking about that in regards to why she kept tatting up her once beautiful body and would eventually become completely unrecognizable.

For those of you who don’t remember, or are in to much shock seeing her hair like that at the avn awards show, here is what she used to look like.

Speaking of Janine, here is what Janine used to look like and how she looks now.

Pictures Live from 2012 AVN Awards

While there were some complaints about the AVN show being badly produced this year.  One attendee tweeted “The show was only two hours this year-still felt like 5 but with fewer cool montages. fail.”  But the one thing you can’t say is that @PornstarTweet didn’t own the hell out of tweeting pics live from the red carpet.    Thanks to them and a whole bunch of fun loving, tweeting porn stars, we have for you some images from the 2012 AVN awards show.  So enjoy!!

The AVN Awards’ Red Carpet is the fast-paced, star-studded precursor to the industry’s most prestigious and glamorous awards show. The event takes place Jan. 21, 2012 at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The Joint is a sleek and upscale, 4,000-seat showroom with the reputation as one of the most sophisticated and authentic venues in Las Vegas.

Dubbed “the Oscars of porn” by Entertainment Weekly, the AVN Awards is a must-attend, must-see event featuring the hottest stars from adult and mainstream pop culture.

The AVN Awards will take place after the annual Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE). AEE runs January 18 – 21, also in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. In 2012, AEE includes traditional exhibits, meeting rooms, exhibit suites, more networking events, more parties, more product demos and more educational components.

Coolio and 2 Live Crew to Party at the AVN Awards

The 2012 AVN Awards is pleased to announce that Coolio and 2 Live Crew will perform in The Joint immediately following the AVN Awards on Jan. 21 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

Each artist will perform their own set and then join together for a special encore. The post-show concert ends at 2 a.m.

Coolio arrived on the hip-hop scene with his 1994 debut album It Takes a Thief on Tommy Boy Records. The album contained the single “Fantastic Voyage” which became Coolio’s breakout song. It peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it one of the biggest rap singles of the year. Overall the album was certified Platinum.

It was however his single, “Gangsta’s Paradise” off the Dangerous Minds soundtrack, that put Coolio into the stratosphere. The global hit reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts and earned Coolio a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance.

No rap group has stirred more controversy or provoked more heated debate than 2 Live Crew. The furor over the graphic sexual content of their X-rated party rhyme—specifically their 1989 album As Nasty as They Wanna Be—was a major catalyst in making rap music a flash point for controversy and an easily visible target for self-appointed moral guardians. Regardless of whether one enjoys their sense of humor, to focus only on the controversy ignores the 2 Live Crew’s musical contributions. They were responsible for popularizing the booming, hard-driving sound of Miami bass music, and they were the founding fathers of a populist, dance-oriented rap subgenre that relied on simple, explicit chants and up-tempo rump-shaking grooves, appropriately dubbed “booty rap.”

Tickets are available at AdultEntertainmentExpo.com for $50. Ticket holders for the 2012 AVN Awards can enjoy the concert for no additional charge.

All fan, trade and press attendees may go to AdultEntertainmentExpo.com for the 2012 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE), which will be held at its new home, The Hard Rock Hotel, in Las Vegas. AEE will showcase an incredible lineup of the biggest names the adult industry has to offer, the hottest adult stars from around the world, a robust trade seminar program, stage shows, musical performances, and a first look at the cutting-edge technology behind some of the most innovative sex toys and novelties on the market today, and in the future.

For the first time in its history, The Hard Rock Hotel will host all facets of the expo, as well as the 2012 AVN Awards Show. The festivities open on Wednesday, January 18 through Saturday, January 21, 2012.

One of the largest adult tradeshows in the world, AEE brings together an exciting and unique experience for everyone within the adult entertainment industry. AEE trade registration includes the AVN Novelty Expo (ANE), the industry’s leading B2B trade expo for pleasure products, the AEE Trade Show, and for the first time, the AEE Fan Fest, giving fans never-before-seen access to the industry and its participants.

In a first, AEE will be presenting over 12 official parties held throughout Las Vegas, where attendees of the expo have the opportunity to upgrade their tickets to attend these events.

Wednesday is restricted to trade attendees only, and special “trade only” hours on Friday and Saturday will restrict access to industry professionals and the media in order to permit exhibitors to make and build business and media contacts before fans are allowed into the Expo.

Trade registration provides badge holders access to all AEE and ANE seminars, the main exhibit hall during all show hours, and the AVN Novelty Expo. Special Fan Tickets are also now available at fall discount rates. The VIP Fan Package includes access to the Fan Fest featuring over 300 adult stars, separate VIP Entrance, dedicated registration area, AEE Show Directory, and a complimentary T-shirt for $100.

The 2012 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE) is dramatically expanding its audience reach with the creation of a AVN-AEE Virtual Ticket allowing registrants to view and participate in the iconic Las Vegas event from the privacy of their own home. Wicked Pictures exclusive contract star, Jessica Drake and Mr.Skin.com founder Jim McBride will be VirtualCast hosts alongside popular Midwest radio personality ROVER. A Virtual Ticket is $19.99 and available here.

The 2012 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo sets the stage for the 29th annual AVN Awards Show, which will be held Saturday, January 21, at The Joint at The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. The annual AVN Awards Show is the premier gala of adult video and recognizes titles, individuals, and companies for contributions to and excellence in the industry. Please note that a separate ticket is required for admission to the AVN Awards Show. To cover the red carpet arrivals or 2012 awards show, please email press@avnawards.com.

SNL Spoofs the AVN’s

The AVN Awards Spoofed on NBC’s‘Saturday Night Live’

The Charles Barkley-Hosted Episode Aired January 7 with a Sketch on “The Oscars of Porn!”

January 9, 2012 — CHATSWORTH, Calif. — With the 29th annual AVN Awards Show only two weeks away, this weekend’s Charles Barkley-hosted episode of the NBC sketch show Saturday Night Live included a timely segment featuring the “Oscars of porn.”

To view the January 7, 2012 SNL sketch involving the AVN Awards, visit http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/january-7-charles-barkley/1377371/ (found after the 48-minute mark).

In the sketch, the AVN Awards were presented as the 17th annual “Adult Video Awards” as broadcast on the Spike network (the real awards air on an alternate cable station)—but they did choose as their comedic target a very legitimate portion of the AVN Awards: the memorial reel.

In the amusing sketch, SNL regular Bobby Moynihan, donning the signature mop-mane and mustache of Ron Jeremy, and newer cast member Abby Elliott, as fictional “Starlet of the Year Crystal Butt,” take the podium to introduce a tribute to such fallen industry notables as “Ricky Stroker, Actor,” “Tony Dingle, Pizza Guy” and “Dong Corleone, ‘The Dongfather.'”

This isn’t the first time SNL satirized the AVNs. In a 2007 sketch (http://business.avn.com/articles/video/AVN-Awards-Featured-in-Saturday-Night-Live-Skit-27039.html) with then cast member Darrell Hammond playing Al Gore, a genuine AVN trophy was featured as one of Gore’s myriad awards. (The category: Best Group Sex Scene, for his work with four others in “the adult version of An Inconvenient Truth.”)

The AVN Awards takes place January 21, 2012 at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.  The Joint is a sleek and upscale, 4,000-seat showroom with the reputation as one of the most sophisticated and authentic venues in Las Vegas.

Comedian Dave Attell and adult superstars Bree Olson and Sunny Leone host the awards. Tickets to the gala event also are available for fans to purchase through AVNAwards.com. Industry members receive limited reserved seating. More information about reserved seating can be obtained by emailing Bonnie LeBlanc at tickets@avnawards.com.

Studios or groups wishing to purchase a table at the show should also email LeBlanc.

AVN Award Bitterness

I don’t understand some people.  When the AVN award nominations were announced there were a flood of messages from porn stars thanking AVN for the recognition.  Then there was a few messages from a producer with obvious tones of bitterness.

He’s been directing lower budget gonzo movies for a particular studio for about 6 years now.  While it is true he has over 200 directorial credits to his name, this is porn and that isn’t really saying much.    They are all for the same low budget type movies such as Fuck My Big Gaping Ass Hole volume 316.  Beyond that he hasn’t really contributed that much to the betterment of the industry.   Yet he felt slighted for not being inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame this year.  I can see if maybe he had directed some big budget features or did something, anything that contributed to the betterment of the industry but he hadn’t.  So yes, it annoyed me a lot about this guy and how some people have such a feeling of entitlement in this business.

Later that day my attention was drawn to a tweet by another person with the scent of bitterness.  She was complaining how her “fans” wouldn’t get the joy of seeing her at the AVN show this year in Vegas because nobody had bothered to hire her for the entire year last year.  She would ramble on a bit about how she is sorry to for her fans that wouldn’t get to see her at the awards show this year but maybe next year.  I’m sorry but if you can’t get a single booking in an entire year, you might perhaps want to seriously consider a career change.  Obviously this business isn’t for you.

Then today we had the post by Mike South who felt slighted for his lack of award nominations or to be blunt, because AVN didn’t see fit to induct him into the AVN Hall of Fame.  While it is true Mike South’s efforts in getting PWL taken down were an important contribution to the betterment of the industry ….. is that ONE effort, really worth a Hall of Fame entry?

I mean come on.  What else have you done?  IAFD shows he has less than 30 directorial credits to his name.  That’s not exactly ground breaking.  I think the little fuck who used to get me coffee has more than that now with his first month in the business.

So he’s been around a long time.  This is true.  About 17 years.  But in that time what has he specifically done for the betterment of the industry or that was so ground breaking?  He posts on a blog and often refers to other blogs as “lessor” despite the fact that the 4 he calls that have 2 and 3 times more traffic than his own.

He doesn’t live in porn valley or ever attend any porn related events.  At least not that I’ve heard of.  I read his blog quite often and over the years have yet to see any actual talk of him doing anything for the industry other than his rants on a blog.  While that’s all well and good, how does that actually entitle him to an induction in the AVN Hall of Fame?

He can lay claim to managing Kayden Kross.  That is something but then again about 900 suitcase pimps that are currently active in the business use that same argument to justify their own existence.

So not to be a dick, but really what the fuck makes you people think you are so God damn special that YOU deserve to be in the hall of fame?

Not just Mike South, who out of the three people I spoke about at least can say he picked a fight with Donny Long and got the fucking stupid site taken down.  But seriously people, why do you think so fucking highly of yourself?  GET OVER IT.   YOU AREN’T THAT FUCKING SPECIAL.

You made a few low budget fuck flicks.  That doesn’t make you worthy of a hall of fame induction.  It just means you did the exact same thing 4,000 other guys did.  You aren’t special for it.

So let me tell you all a little secret.

No seriously.  You really aren’t.
