Attention Porn Stars —- Learn to say NO and maybe save your life!

Multiple industry sources are reporting that an unnamed male porn star who performed in both straight and gay videos is being called “patient zero” who has tested positive for HIV and as a direct result, caused the quarantine for several other performers who may have worked with recently worked with him.  All kinds of crazy rumors and stories are coming out about this.  Some may be true, some not so much.

Rumors are saying the list of performers who have tested positive now includes up to 20 names, some “big”.  Who those 20 are we don’t know at this time.  Other rumors include the one where the patient zero test has magically disappeared from the AIM database and there are rampant rumors of more AIM corruption and mistakes.  Here are some of the tweets going on about the AIDS outbreak.

The question no doubt people want to know is, could this have been prevented?  Is there something the performers could do to have lessened their risk?  The most obvious answer is yes, use a condom but the reality of the situation is, most studios and producers won’t allow it.

I hope that all those producers who won’t allow it and their talent comes up with HIV gets arrested and serves time in jail as a result.  But that’s just me.

Now the condom issue aside, there is something else porn stars can do to lessen their risk of problems and it’s as simple as saying “no!”.  No, I don’t mean no to performing, I mean their no list.  Your hands are not tied, you can dictate who you will and won’t work with and that includes risky performers.   Sure some people put names on their no list that they don’t like but what they need to do is spend less time on petty squabbles and more time on figuring out which other performers put them at the highest risk and those are the people that should top their NO list.

This should at the very least include any male OR female who has had sexual relations with a gay (or bisexual) male performer, and any male or female talent who has had sexual relations with a tranny.  I can recall just about a year or two ago a certain male performer that a lot of people dislike bitching up a storm because a lot of girls didn’t want to work with him because he has been gay for pay.  I think Christian X might have done a tranny too.  I can’t really recall and the details but long story short, those girls didn’t have anything against the guy personally, they just knew it HIGH RISK behavior wasn’t worth putting their own lives at risk just because they thought he was a nice guy.

You need to think about yourself, your actual LIFE.   This is nothing personal against gays, bi-sexual or transsexuals but in reality, there are certain groups of people who are a higher risk than others to contract HIV.  If you want to reduce your risk then you need to avoid having unprotected sexual relations with those group of people.  It really is that simple.

USE THE NO LIST TO YOUR ADVANTAGE!  HELP REDUCE YOU RISK!

If you even suspect someone is a higher risk than others then say no.  Your life is not worth it.  Or at the very least, demand the use of a condom.  No job is worth your life.

*** update – Mike South is reporting “Wicked and Vivid have both suspended production until all this gets sorted out properly, good for them.

I am hearing that the gay adult industry doesn’t require testing and that is the reason why performing with any of them is more risky than others.

  1. Just so you know Transsexual Performers are required to AIM test just as their female counterparts. If a TS Star is working for a DVD Company ESPECIALLY in LA like Evil Angel, Devils, etc we are required to have a valid 30 day HIV test! I think adding us to some “no list” because of our sexuality isnt necessary since we abide by the same rules as female entertainers.

If you are adding people who are “high risk” then you would be adding ALL high risks groups and not just the one’s that sound the best!

Its our body and WE ALL can choose whom we sleep with but its not fair to advocate against one group without ALL the facts.

  2. Not fair? Within the adult industry and within the world in general, homosexual males have HIV at a MUCH higher rate than the rest of the population. Dont kid yourself, testing or not, having sex with men that have sex with other men is risky behavior that promotes the spread of HIV/AIDS. This is not about discrimination, its about staying alive. Having sex with heroin addicts and tweekers should be avoided as well (especially if they’re gay 🙂
