As unlikely as that might sound, the talented African-American actress is earning critical acclaim and just beginning to raise enough eyebrows among those who produce movies and review them to put her into the discussion for the year’s best adult actress.
“Misty Stone is Hollywood good and people that can recognize legitimate talent will know,” stated Will Ryder who directed a number of big movies that Stone appeared in this year such as Not the Cosbys XXX and Flight Attendants. “This is not hype or BS but besides being a physically beautiful girl, Misty Stone is a natural-born actress and that’s something we don’t even say about the good ones.”
Stone has been in the adult movie business for over three years but had never been tested until she got her big break in this year’s best parody contender a spoof of the Cosby Show. The Inglewood, California native had been relegated to mostly black gonzo sex movies.
“I did a lot of the booty movies even though I don’t have a big booty but I really wanted to act,” Stone joked before turning dead serious. “It wasn’t until I got cast as Denise Huxtable in the Cosbys XXX and saw that there was an entirely different way of making movies out there that I realized this is what I wanted to do.”
Quickly other companies began to notice the exceptional performer and super-talented actress and the casting push was on. The pretty twenty-three year old landed a number of good roles in feature movies including This Ain’t Saved by the Bell from Hustler, Red Light’s The Apprentass and Vivid’s Scared Sexy in addition to her work with X-Play.
“It was like the light suddenly went off not only in my head but in the way people started to look at me,” she recalled.
