Everyone wants the best deal they can get. I mean duh, it’s only natural to get a great deal on anything and everything we do and that includes making great business deals. But lately with the economy being the way it is, the old school practices of exclusivity might not be the best answer.
I read a story today on XBIZ about New Sensations signing an exclusive deal for VOD with Adult DVD Empire. My first thought wasn’t man, great job. It was more like what they fuck were they thinking?
Why in the fuck, during today’s horrible economic conditions would any studio go out of their way to limit their product to a very select few customers? What about the millions of people who buy from other sites like AEBN, Mallcom, Gamelink, Effex Media? There are literally millions of customers who buy from these other outlets each and every day that will now be purposely excluded from having a chance to buy these New Sensation products via VOD. I don’t know the exact numbers but can you imagine how many people a day buy movies from a mega VOD site like AEBN? That company is huge and specializes in video on demand.
What kind of dumb ass would seriously even consider such a deal with the things the way they are right now? What could one website, above all others really offer? A promise to promote their movie via email to their clients or some special placement on their website? Well what about the millions and millions of other customers who you just lost ? Is that email ad really worth that?
For fuck sakes the stupid shit that goes on in this business sometimes never ceases to amaze me.
Internet adult retailer AdultDVDEmpire.com has inked a deal that makes it the exclusive video-on-demand provider for New Sensations’ series of critically acclaimed porn parodies. New Sensations kicked off its string of hit parodies earlier this year with “The Office: A XXX Parody,” helmed by Lee Roy Myers. The movie now is available on AdultDVDEmpire.com.
AdultDVDEmpire.com offers customers three VOD viewing options: download-to-own, streaming rental and a download rental. Other New Sensations parodies that are available via VOD include “‘70’s Show: A XXX Parody,” “Friends: A XXX Parody,” “Seinfeld: A XXX Parody,” “30 Rock: A XXX Parody,” “Scrubs: A XXX Parody,” and Revolution X/Digital Sin’s “The Sex Files: A Dark XXX Parody.”
New Sensations’ latest parody to hit the streets, “Entourage: A XXX Parody,” also is available on VOD. The movie stars Tori Black, Anthony Rosano, Eva Ellington, Jeremy Conway, Jack Vegas, Priya Rai, Rocco Reed, Ashlynn Brooke, Patrick Knight and Jayden Jaymes.
