PARIS — Digital Playground’s “Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge” and Private’s “Billionaire” were big winners last night at the Hot d’Or awards.

The awards program, sponsored by Hot Video magazine, was held at Paris’ Wagram concert hall in front of a black-tie audience of about 1,000 after an eight-year absence. The awards were held annually from 1992-2001 and originally spun off as an unofficial byproduct of the Cannes film festival.

“Pirates II” received five awards for Best American Film, Best French Actress (Katsuni), Best American Actress (Jesse Jane), Best American Actor (Evan Stone) and Best American Scene.

Director Allesandro Del Mar’s “Billionaire” received Best European Film and Best European Scene. Best Actress went to Tarra White and Best European Performance also went to White.

Other American winners included Adam & Eve’s Kayden Kross (Best American Starlet), Jenna Haze (Best American Female Performance) and Lexington Steele (Best American Male Performance).

Digital Playground’s Katsuni, who is French-born, was grateful for being honored.

“It’s something different when you win an award in your own country,” Katsuni said. “I’ve always been more recognized in foreign countries. After nine years in the industry, I’m getting that recognition in France. “That’s a really nice feeling.

“Vive les Hot d’Or! Vive la France! Vive le porno!” she said.

The Hot d’Or was hosted by Brigitte Lahaie, a French adult performer from the 1970s, with Hot Video readers voting for the winners. Hot Video said it received more than 25,000 votes.
