St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, is one of Christianity’s most widely known figures, yet despite being a religious figure, it is on this day we celebrate by non stop drunkenness and debauchery. And even more interesting conflict during this festive day is that in America it is customary to wear green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day but in Ireland the color was long considered to be unlucky. It seems that green is the favorite color for faeries who may steal people, especially children if they wear to much green.
