A Lafayette woman is accused of setting up a night of drinking and sex with a 14-year-old girl as a gift for her son’s 18th birthday. Her sister and her son also were booked in the case.

Michelle R. Arceneaux allegedly posed as the mother of a friend of the girl’s so that the child’s mother would let her spend the night at her house, said Maj. Roy Frusha, spokesman for the Lafayette Parish sheriff.

Frusha said Tyler Randall Arceneaux, 18, was booked on three counts of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile, and Michelle Arceneaux, 39, on three counts of being a principal to that crime.

Michelle Arceneaux’s sister, Sonya M. Townsdin, 42, was booked with contributing to juvenile delinquency and with buying alcoholic drinks for people under the age of 21.

Tyler Arceneaux was arrested twice in February, police said. He was booked with 10 counts of simple burglary, for allegedly breaking into vehicles parked at apartment complexes, and with disturbing the peace.
