PENIS OBSESSION

‘Penis obsessed’ man convicted of partner’s murder

from ABC NEWS

A 35-year-old man from Blakeview in Adelaide has been found guilty of murdering his partner in a jealous rage, three years ago.

Lawyers for Michael Daniel Cox had argued that their client was mentally unfit to have committed the murder because he was suffering from "delusions and morbid jealousy".

Cox severely bashed his partner Nicole Mazey at their Blakeview home in September 2003.

Ms Mazey died in hospital days later, and Cox later admitted he had committed the fatal assault.

But his lawyers argued that Cox was mentally unfit to have committed the crime because of a "body dysmorphic disorder", in which Cox was pathologically obsessed with the size of his penis.

His lawyer said Cox also suffered from "morbid jealousy" and had convinced himself Ms Mazey was having an affair.

However Justice Richard White today rejected Cox’s defence and found him guilty of murder.

Cox will be sentenced in August.
